Reese Road Leadership Academy is hosting a Virtual GMAS Parent Night for 3rd-5th grade parents on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. The event aims to provide an overview of the Georgia Milestones assessment, share expectations/requirements, announce upcoming workshops, and offer a platform for questions and feedback. The Georgia Milestones assessment system is designed to gauge student mastery of state standards, inform students and parents about learning progress, and enhance school effectiveness. The state testing dates are set for May 2-13, 2022, covering grades 3-8 in language arts, mathematics, and science. The Georgia Milestones assessment is a comprehensive tool aligned with Georgia's academic standards. Its goal is to ensure students receive high-quality instruction to meet academic expectations effectively.

What can I do to help my child at home? Remind your child that some of the questions maybe harder than others, but don t give up and do your best. Be certain your child gets plenty of sleep and has a healthy breakfast and lunch. Taking tests is hard work for many students and can require a lot of energy. Encourage your child to employ good study and test-taking skills. These skills include following directions carefully, avoiding careless, avoiding careless errors, and reviewing work. Explain the purpose of the test. The assessments give students the opportunity to show what they have learned in school. They also give teachers information that helps them plan lessons.
