  3. Title I-A Program What is Title I-A ? A component of ESEA, our nation s largest education assistance program for schools Provides additional support to students with the greatest need Can support behavioral and social emotional needs as well as academic needs All ESEA programs, including Title I-A, are about ensuring the right supports get to the right students Oregon Department of Education 3

Each Title I-A school must Complete an annual needs assessment Create and annually update a school-level plan and compact Develop and implement a Family Engagement Plan Engage families as partners in their child s learning Maintain documentation of staff qualifications Oregon Department of Education 4

  7. Our Schools Program Our school s model Stella Mayfield is a Title I school, meaning all students are eligible for services, and will be provided as/when needed. What does our program look like? In our Title Program students receive services from a licensed teacher with a specialization in reading and a highly qualified assistant who has also received specialized training.. Services may be provided in the classroom in small groups, in a pull-out model (again small groups), and occasionally individual instruction will be needed. Oregon Department of Education 7

  8. Our Goals The goal of Title Services in the Elgin School District is to support student growth and learning. Title services are not to replace classroom instruction, but to enhance what the teacher presents to the class. In our school, families are involved in the process of establishing the goals by participating in planning meetings, informational seminars, and direct conversation with stakeholders.   9. Our Schools Curriculum To determine student growth Stella Mayfield Elementary students are evaluated utilizing EasyCBM. This evaluation tool provides teachers with enough information to determine growth toward grade level expectations. In addition, Elgin School District is compliant in curriculum adoption and provides classroom teachers with relevant, current, and appropriate materials. Oregon Department of Education 9

How We Monitor Student Progress Assessments our school uses EasyCBM, Oregon State Testing, Progress monitoring process Students are monitored 4 times a year for progress Communicationof your child s progress Growth charts are provided with student grade reports Oregon Department of Education 10

  11. Our Data/How are we doing? HERE IS WHERE WE PUT IN OUR CURRENT DATA, FOLLOWING STATE TESTING Oregon Department of Education 11

  12. Each fall Stella Mayfield Administration will host an Open House to provide information obtained the previous year from State Testing and progress monitoring. In addition to the historical information presented, there will be open (organized) discussion to include parent and community input as we develop the year long plan for student growth.   14. Families as Partners Family Engagement Plan Stella Mayfield staff will host multiple events and opportunities for family engagement, information sharing, and idea development. These events happen at a minimum quarterly. ie: Family Reading Night, Math in the Gym Compact Parents will receive a copy of the compact at the fall meeting (August).
