NTID STAFF SENATE MEET & GREET September 20, 2019
Who are the senators? Exempt Tabitha Jacques Chair Timothy Sanger II Skip Flanagan (ad hoc member) Non-Exempt Cheryl Bovard Vice Chair Jeremy S. Zehr Secretary Sarah Schneckenburger Jenna Stein Katie Zuris
What does the NSS do? The NTID Staff Senate only represents staff members who work for NTID, whereas RIT Staff Council is for all staff members that work on campus. Similarly, RIT Academic Senate is for all RIT faculty and NTID Faculty Congress represents NTID faculty. When do I approach an NSS senator when do I approach a Staff Council Rep? vs.
How do I contact a Senator? You can reach out to any senator via their RIT e-mail addresses, which can be found under membership on our website. https://www.ntid.rit.edu/committees/nss If you would like to reach us anonymously, you can do so at Submission Form
When does the NSS Meet? We meet once a month on a Friday, 2:30-3:30 pm Our next meeting dates are October 4 November 1 November 15 (Open Meeting) December 6
Survey Results Thank you for filling out the survey! THE TOP ISSUES/CONCERNS/IDEAS SHARED FROM SPRING SURVEY: Communication/ASL skills 24% Transparency of communication 20% Career Ladders (HR issue) 15%
HR concerns We cannot address HR issues, only to bring them to the attention of HR. Here are a list of topics identified on the survey pertaining to HR and were shared with them: Career Ladders and Career Advancement Benefits and Pay/Wage bands Enrollment We will invite HR to attend an NSS Open Forum. More details to follow.
Projects in the Works We will identify one or two concerns from the survey and work on a solution. Work with Staff Assistants on improving their training experience Speed Mentoring/Networking Program
