At the end of the last chapter, Oz translated the end of Lysandra s account, about the death of Kyky and the events that unfollowed, including his burial. We now know where he is buried and where this jar came from, but is it the same place Howard Carter is digging? There s the tomb by Kyky s body was buried and the tomb where Maya buried his heart. Howard Carter certainly thinks he has found him, as shown in the quote at the beginning of Part Four.

Comprehension questions for Chapter 14 How much have you understood? Remember to refer back to the text to find the answers to these questions. You can write your answers on any piece of paper at home, or discuss them with someone but your answers must be in full sentences. My answers are on the next slide. 1. Here are the answers I would give the questions set. I have written my answer in blue and my explanation of how I know think this is in green. 1. Why is Lil concerned about opening the package? Lil is worried about opening the package because it was old and she was scared it would fall apart. Page 2, although I personally would be more worried about it being a mega old heart which is a little gross in my opinion. 2. Why don t they pass the heart around? They don t pass the heart around because Tulip says it is disrespectful. She sees the heart as Kyky, part of him, not just something to pass around. Page 3-4. 3. Why doesn t Lil want to tell Mrs Mendoza about the heart? Lil doesn t want to tell Mrs Mendoza about the heart because although she would be able to write an amazing story, people knowing about it would stop them putting it back and breaking the curse. They had to do this to save Grandad. Page 6-7. It s tricky for Oz though, of course he wants to help his Mum! But her career isn t more important than Grandad s life. 4. Who do you think Oz thought he saw at Athens station? There is no right answer here, it s your opinion. I m not going to tell you mine because I know who it is I ve seen the end! It s good though, wait for the surprise!
