  2. 2022-2023 School Year 5th Grade Matriculation Coral Springs Middle School UPCOMING EVENTS: Stallion Round-Up: Tuesday, 03/15/22 6:00 pm -7:30 pm- Revised Date 1st Day of School: Tuesday, August 16th Stallion 5th grade Field Trip Visit: TBA Open House Dates & Times: TBA Stallion Coffee with the Principal: 3/31/22, 4/28/22, 5/26/22 (9:30 am @CSMS) Registration will open close to Spring Break via Microsoft forms link on our website and parentlink IMPORTANT SCHOOL INFORMATION: Main: (754) 322-3000 Attendance: (754) 322-3002 Coralspringsmiddle.browardschools.com School Hours: 9:30 am-4:00 pm Supervision begins at 9am and ends at 4:30pm Stallion Stampede: (Summer 22) TBA 6th grade Orientation, drop-off event Cost: $15.00, Pizza & CSMS T-Shirt Registration and Information on our website Schedule Pick-up: TBA PTA, Transportation, Before/After Care, School T- shirts

CORE CURRICULUM 6 Classes per day 6th, 7th & 8th grade- Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, two Elective choices 6th, 7th & 8th Students who perform at a level 1 or 2 on the FSA/IREADY will be enrolled in an Intensive Reading course and have one Elective option Gifted Courses 6th, 7th & 8th grade Language Arts, Science, Social Studies GEM Math & GEARS Science TRACK 6th grade- Pre-Algebra, Accelerated Science I 7th grade- Algebra Honors, Accelerated Science II 8th grade- Geometry Honors & Biology Honors High School Credit and Honor Courses High School Honors: Algebra, Geometry, Coding, Debate, Biology Non-Honors: Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Cambridge Global Perspectives Cambridge English Language Arts 8th grade Cambridge Global Perspectives- 7th & 8th grade

  4. Registration and Course Card information Student Course Card selections will be completed via Microsoft Forms in March/April. 5th grade teachers will coordinate this with the middle school. All students entering Coral Springs Middle School must complete ALL registration forms. Forms will go home with students in March/April. Teacher recommendation and/or FSA/iReady data will be used for student placement in Academic courses. Parents may always reach out if there are concerns.
