In Lesson 7, students are tasked with deciding on the best Marine Protected Area (MPA) proposal for coral reefs. They learn about the importance of coral reef biodiversity, threats faced by reefs from human activities, and how to evaluate and compare different MPA proposals. Through stakeholder debates and peer assessments, students analyze the positive and negative features of proposed MPAs to ultimately select the most suitable site for protection. The lesson encourages critical thinking and decision-making skills in conservation efforts.
