Birthdays / Snack We do have Snack each morning, during our ELA block. It is a long morning, so it is a great idea to have your child remember to pack a healthy snack each day! WE HAVE A SEVERE ALLERGY TO NUTS IN OUR ROOM! Birthdays are celebrated. Your child may bring in goodies for the class on his/her birthday, but due to a NUT ALLERGY, treats must be store bought and individually wrapped. No homemade treats this year. Please reach out to me in advance as to when you would like to send in a birthday treat. Summer birthdays will be celebrated toward the end of the school year.
Homework *Students will write their assignments on their homework sheets each day. Please check your child s homework sheet each night for assignments . Students are responsible for completing their homework assignments daily. Parents are responsible for reviewing and checking that these assignments are completed. If assignments are not completed on the due date, students will complete them during recess. Thank you for your support! *If your child is absent from school and you want work sent home, you must reach out to me or the main office to place a request. I will need to know how the work is getting home.
Tests/Quizzes Most tests and quizzes will be completed online. In order for parents to be informed of their child s progress, individual reports will be sent home in your child s folder, meant for you to view, sign and return to school in your child s folder the following Monday.

Keeping folders organized is important!
Parent Teacher Conferences Information regarding conferences is not available at this time. Look for future correspondence from myself or the school regarding November conferences.
Olweus and Character Education We instill respect and caring for one another in school, through the use of Character Education. To reinforce the importance of these values, our school has implemented a bullying prevention program called OLWEUS. This program is based on appropriate grade level cooperative activities, encouraging positive values. This program gives students the tools they need to help prevent bullying, as well as ways to get help for themselves, or others, if they witness or experience bullying.
