Hui and Fono Feedback
A VISION FOR LEARNING WITH DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES
How will learning take place?

In a class still but with programs to help
Practical and fun oriented
When teachers are assisting and guiding and not administrating or commanding, this will foster
independence, self-help skills
By trying, learning from mistakes, improving themselves and not giving up
More digital
By practice
More hands on training
Visual
Getting basics clear
Self-learning
What will your children’s expectations of
learning be?

Learning which is useful, meaningful, fun and inviting
Keep up with what is relevant in regards to subjects and technology
Learn everything now
Everything at their fingertips
To be fun
Learning through games
Learn to say, write what they see, think and feel
How will learning and teaching change?
And how will digital technology support this change?

Digital learning is great, but need to stress a bit on hand-writing skills too!
Allows kids to access more the “world”
It’s becoming more ‘online’ where it also provides that additional tools for learning
e.g. reading eggs, Mathletics
Digital is very helpful for kids with learning difficulties i.e. dyslexia etc
By staying updated and keeping our children informed of the changes happening
regularly word wide
What type of learning environments
will you see?

Specialist teachers
Lots of devices
Open spaces, not many desks
Hopefully not children just staring at screens instead of talking about projects they are working on
Communicating with others near and far, in other schools, workplaces etc
Places like farms, learn more life skills
What will happen to manual learning or work and thinking in that way
Something interactive, devices and physical environment
More virtual learning
Want a variety of learning not just computers/devices
Use of more electronic devices
What will your children know, value and be
able to do when they leave our school?

Know how to work within a team as well as independently
Build friendships
Keep up with technology as it changes so the can have good career opportunities
Have confidence
Self manager
Be kind and helpful
Willing to try anything
Have good literacy, numeracy skills, know technology but also good practical life skills
To be able to excel further in education in the future and keep progressing
Competent social skills
Self-help skills
Value relationships
Ready for higher education
Actually type, spell, email, communicate

In a class environment, learning will be practical, fun-oriented, and guided by teachers to foster independence and self-help skills. Emphasizing digital tools, hands-on training, and self-learning, children's expectations include useful, relevant, and engaging learning experiences. The shift in teaching methods towards digital technology supports online learning tools for skill development, especially for children with learning difficulties. Envisioned learning environments feature specialist teachers, open spaces, and interactive devices to enhance virtual learning experiences. Ultimately, children are expected to leave school equipped with teamwork skills, adaptability, technological proficiency, confidence, kindness, and a willingness to explore new opportunities.
