Update on 2021-22 LCAP Redesign: Version 2 Draft Available for Review
Draft version 2 of the Annual Update Template for the 2021-22 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) has been released for review and download. Governor Newsom signed SB 820, requiring revisions to include actions from the Learning Continuity Plan and the 2019-2020 LCAP by January 31, 2021. Stakeholder input sessions have taken place, and the revised template is set for approval in June 2021.

Review On September 18, 2020, Governor Newsom signed Senate Bill 820 SB 820 requires the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (Superintendent), in consultation with the Executive Director of the State Board of Education (SBE), to revise the Template and Instructions for the Annual Update to the 2021 22 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) The revision must include the actions and expenditures from both the Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan (Learning Continuity Plan) and the 2019 2020 LCAP The revision must be completed by January 31, 2021 3

202122 LCAP Development Cycle January, 2021 The revised Annual Update Template and Instructions for the 2021 22 LCAP will be approved February June, 2021 Development of the LCAP and the LCAP Annual Update for 2021-22 using the LCAP template adopted by the SBE in January 2020; and the revised LCAP Annual Update Template and Instructions approved in January 2021 July 1, 2021 School districts, county offices of education, and charter schools will adopt the 2021-22 LCAP 6
