2. STANDING FIRM IN THE FIERY TRIALS 1. Be ready for trials. Tough times are a normal part of our journey with Jesus.

3. Modern Day Babylon We re living in this Babylon-type culture, and like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we face having to adapt to it and still honour God. Martyn Iles, CEO of Answers in Genesis

4. No one is immune to trials. 1 Peter 4:12-13 (NLT) Dear friends, don t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.

5. Jesus tells us to expect trials. John 16:33 (NLT) I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world

6. What do we do when hard times arrive at our doorsteps? Is the suffering in our lives a direct consequence of our sin?

7. PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD EPHESIANS 6:10

8. STANDING FIRM IN THE FIERY FURNACE 2. Trust that God will strengthen you through trials.

9. 1 Pet.1:7 (NLT) These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. Trials purify and strengthen you, leading you to genuine faith.

10. How do I find hope during trials? Turn to the Lord, not away from Him. Trust in His goodness and know that there is a blessing attached to every trial, if you stand firm in God. Pray and meditate on His word. Ask: What does God want me to learn from this trial?

11. STANDING FIRM IN THE FIERY TRIALS 3. See the manifestation of God s great power in trials. Daniel 3:25 (NLT) Look! Nebuchadnezzar shouted. I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god! (ha.lakh) 'to go' (H1981)

12. Walking in the Garden Genesis 3:8 (NLT) When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. God s manifestation comes to them as a cool breeze. (ha.lakh) 'to go' (H1981)

13. Matthew 28:20 (NLT) Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

14. Be Still Psalm 46:10 (NIV) Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Practice stillness.
