3. CIO Update ODE Chief Information Officer Job Bulletin Closes April 17. Early Learning Division IT Operations Manager Job Bulletin Closes April 24. ODE Project Manager 3 Job Bulletin TBD ODE Digital Learning Education Technology Program Manager Job Bulletin TBD Jose Macias was appointed as ODE Budget Director following Becky Fredrickson s retirement. Michael Elliot was appointed to the new Director of School Facilities. Kai Turner was appointed as the ODE Office of Finance and Information Technology. Kai previously held the ODE Director of Procurement position. Daryl Kottek is the new EIS Senior IT Portfolio Manager assigned to ODE.

4. CIO Update Projects: State Data Center - Planning continues. SDC approved the ODE plan on March 31 hitting a key milestone FirstNet ODE is migrating away from desktop phones in favor of cell phones for most staff ODE IT Core Processes Project Project to identify, inventory and build-in sustainability to our core processes. Andy Milne is the project manager ODE Asset Tracking & Help Desk Ticketing Project Addresses audit finding for improved HW/SW inventory. Implements Service Desk Plus.

5. CIO Update Legislation of Interest 2022 HB 4005 Extends the ELD transition to the Department of Early Learning and Care to July 1, 2023 (passed) 2022 HB 4030 - Relating to educators. Section 13. Nonessential Reporting Requirements for one year. (passed) 2022 HB 4092 Oregon Broadband Bill (passed) 2022 HB 4155 Establishes the Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (failed) 2023 Session Preview: Budget Instructions have been released and as of 4/12, 11 OFIT POPS will move forward including the consolidation of multiple process improvement proposals.

6. CIO Update On May 2, the Public Service Building will be open to welcome visitors and customers. ODE staff are assigned as on-site, remote and hybrid.
