  4. Meet Commission The Meets Commission for the period under review planned and managed four meets including the CUC CARIFTA Trials and the Truman Bodden Classics being the premier events. Due to circumstances beyond the commission s control some events on the Competition Calendar had to be rescheduled or postponed. For example, the Kids Athletics Meet has been moved to May 7 and the Franz Manderson Civil Servant Meet will be held on June 11. Despite the shortage of certified officials and volunteers the meets have been conducted with at least minimal standards being met by having experienced or certified officials in key positions and also as part of the Competition Management Team. With the acquisition of a new finish/lynx system as well as a display board spectators are now able to have a more enjoyable experience and the track athletes were able to note their performance in real time. In the near future, it is hoped that the improvement in technology will be extended to the field events. The commission welcomes suggestions and ideas to improve or enhance the conduct of the meets. Again, appreciation is extended to all officials/volunteers for their services during this past quarter. 4
