infant gates. We come straight into our
classroom, wash our hands and begin our
soft start activity of the day.
Our
break time
is at 10.35am – 10.50am
.
Our
lunch time
is at 12.15pm – 1pm.
We are also lucky enough to have
ten minute
breaks in the afternoon to play and give our
brains a rest.
Our
school day ends
at 2.55pm.

Our Class Charter

Primary 3/2 have been working very hard since
we have been back to school creating our class
charter. We had a look at the rights and agreed
upon the ones that felt were the most important
to us and agreed on ways we can respect these
rights.
We also discussed what kind of teacher we want
Mrs Redford to be.

We decided that our class charter would include;
To listen to each other and take it in turns to
speak.
To always be friendly and care for each other.
To always try our best and work hard.
To help each other when we can.
To make sure we act in a safe manner in our
classroom and playground.

Health and Wellbeing.

For the first few weeks of Primary 3/2, we have been’ and will
continue to, spend a lot of time focusing on our Health and
Wellbeing as we return to school life.

Our topics this term are;
Emotions.
We will be using the Pixar characters from the movie
‘Inside Out’ to help us to understand what each emotion can
look and feel like. We will be using this throughout our time in
Primary 3/2 to check in on our emotions and to encourage us to
consider why we feel certain emotions and what we can do to
support our emotions
Growth Mindset.
We have been focusing on achieving a
powerful growth mindset in our class. We have created bunting
that details the goals we want to achieve this year and how we
can do this. We will also work on this throughout the year so we
continue to understand our powerful brains and that mistakes
are part of our learning journey.
Safe.
We have been examining what situations might be safe or
unsafe and what we could do if we were ever in an unsafe
situation. This will extend to keeping ourselves and loved ones
safe.

Literacy

During this term, we are going to be learning
new common words and sounds to widen our
vocabulary and develop our reading skills.
We will have daily writing, in which we will revisit
prior learning;

punctuation.
Our taught writing this term will focus on
creating Narrative and Instructional texts.
We will have daily reading were we will focus
on our reading strategies to improve our

knowledge of verbs and nouns.

been revisiting concepts and knowledge that we
learned in Primary 2 and 1 and we will continue to
build upon these skills.

people in our local community.
