  1. PRAYER FOR DELIVERANCE FROM THE ENEMY

  2. MEMORY VERSE O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help (Psalm 71:12). TEXT: Psalms 69:1-36; 70:1-5; 71:1-24; 72:1-20

  3. INTRODUCTION The passages in this lesson are all Psalms written by King David. David had so many enemies. Before David became King, Saul wanted to kill him; other nations around also wanted to kill David, even his own son Absalom and his friend Ahithophel became enemies to David. This made David sad and worried.

  4. DAVID PRAYED TO GOD TO DELIVER HIM David prayed to God to deliver him from his enemies. He trusted God and at the end, he gave thanks and praised God for giving him victory over his enemies. Who is an enemy? An enemy is someone who hates and wants to harm another person. Remember, Satan is our number one enemy. He hates all boys and girls and especially children of God and tempts them to sin so that they will not go to heaven.

  5. Maybe you too have enemies, like David. Is there a child in your class, school or in your neighbourhood who refuses to play with you, tries to fight you, steals your things, bullies you and calls you bad names? All these may make you unhappy. Don't worry, what you need to do like David, is to pray and God will deliver you from their wicked plan. The Bible teaches us to love everyone, even our enemies. When they yell at you, speak kindly to them; when they hit you, don't hit back just walk away and report to an older person. YOU TOO CAN BE DELIVERED FROM YOUR ENEMIES Matthew 5:44 reads, But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you .

  6. WATCH, PRAY, AND MAINTAIN YOUR FRIENDSHIP WITH JESUS Whatever you through, God will help you like He did for David. Most of the things that happened to David is like what happened to Jesus Christ and to other children of God like Joseph, Moses, Elijah, Peter, James, John and Apostle Paul. are passing

  7. As God helped them to overcome, so you too will overcome in Jesus' Name. WATCH, PRAY, AND MAINTAIN All you need do is to watch and pray and be sure you are a real friend of Jesus. YOUR FRIENDSHIP WITH JESUS If you are still a sinner, you must say sorry to Jesus for your sins.
