PRAYER FOR VICTORY OVER THE ENEMY Psalm 16:1-11; 17:1-15; 18:1-50; 19:1-14; 20:1-9; 21:1-13
He delivered me from my strong MEMORY VERSE enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. (Psalm 18:17)
WHAT IS PRAYER? Prayer means talking to God. When talking to God in prayer you pray for yourself and others. The book of Psalm is written mostly as songs. Today, we shall learn from the life of David the King, who wrote the Psalms. He sang about the past faithfulness of God in his life and praised God for future victory for himself and Israel. INTRODUCTION
As friends of Jesus, we should always sing spiritual songs that will lift our souls. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16). Whenever you have problem have faith in God as you pray, and He will answer you. Matt. 7:7, Mark 11:22-23.
David pleaded for Gods deliverance and protection, when he saw the activities of enemies against him. He believed that God has the power to save him from the hands of his persecutors. His heart completely trusted the Lord who cannot fail. Are you facing some persecutions today? Remember, persecution is when people hate you for following Jesus and not doing bad things.
If you are a sinful boy or girl, you cannot enjoy all that David enjoyed unless you take the following steps: (a) Confess and forsake your bad ways, (b) Tell Jesus you are sorry, (c) Ask Jesus to wash your heart with His blood, (d) Tell Jesus to come into your heart and be your Lord and Saviour, (e) Believe in your heart that He has heard you. Then, continue to praise Him daily because He will give you victory over your enemies.
