The Nanotheranostics NT1 project concerns the treatment of skin cancer using plasmonic thermal phototherapy, which activates surface plasmons to generate hyperthermia.   3. Need for Innovative Treatment Challenges with Current Treatments: Surgery leaves scars and disfiguration. Melanoma requires immediate intervention. Chemotherapy and radiation cause side effects.   4. How Photothermal Therapy (PTT) Works? Mechanism: Uses light-sensitive gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Near-Infrared (NIR) laser activates gold nanoparticles.
