  3. What is the Course Request Process? The course request process is the way students and families select courses for the next school year. Students should select the levelof learning that they feel is most appropriate for their own academic levels and goals. Course request choices in middle schoolprovide the opportunity for choice in courses in line with the student's interests. This demonstrates our school belief of Discovery.

  4. Before selecting 6th grade courses, reflect on What am I interested in and curious about? What are my strengths and challenges? How much schoolwork do I like to do at home? What are my commitments outside of school?

Science Paths MS Science Path I MS Science Path II (NOT advanced - skips 6 th grade Life Science) MOST STUDENTS WILL BEGIN MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE IN LIFE SCIENCE. 6th Grade Life Science th Earth & Space Science Students will be mixed with 7th grade students 7 th Physical Science Earth and Space Science 8 7th Grade Students will be mixed with 8th grade students Physical Science High School Biology High school level reading and graphing required 8th Grade

  9. Advanced Language Arts Students choosing advanced/accelerated courses should: Have excellent study habits and organizational skills Have strong communication and reading skills Demonstrate motivation & maturity Consider the time commitment Consider the possibility that grades will be lower

  10. Students will request either the trimester electives or a year-long elective. Electives portion presented by Electives teacher Elective(s) One year-long (e.g. Choir, Orchestra, Band) Choose 1 year-long or or Three trimester-long 3 trimester-long electives (Intro to Woods, Art, and Computer Science 1) Students will be enrolled in 2 Trimesters of PE and 1 Trimester of Health PE 6 PE 6 Health 6 PE and Health
