MDSC 2021 Health & Safety Protocols for Summer Camp
MDSC 2021 has implemented health and safety protocols for their summer camp, including guidelines for masks, vaccination requirements, and maintaining group cohorts. MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS What is the MASK Policy at MDSC this summer? As of May 28th , the MDHHS Epidemic Order requires unvaccinated individuals to wear masks at all times while indoors and must stay within their group cohorts and follow physical/social distancing protocols. MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS Will a COVID Vaccine be required to attend MDSC? MDSC is strongly encouraging all campers, staff and adult volunteers to be vaccinated and must provide proof to the camp and must be vaccinated 14 days prior to camp arrival. For those who are unable to be vaccinated, MDSC requires a negative COVID test (PCR) 72 hours prior to arriving at camp.
MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS Will we have group cohorts at MDSC? Historically at MDSC, we have always operated in a cohort environment, with Seniors, Intermediates and Juniors staying within their groups for the majority of the day. These cohorts will be more diligently maintained this summer to comply with best practices.
MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS What will Daily Screenings consist of ? Daily health screenings including a temperature check and assessment of symptoms will be conducted on all campers and staff each morning.
MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS What will the Daily Cleaning & Sanitizing Protocols Consist of ? ? MDSC will use cleaning products and protocols which meet EPA guidelines and are approved to be effective against COVID 19 in addition to other viruses, bacteria, and other airborne/blood-borne pathogens. Daily cleanings will be done in compliance with guidance from the CDC and State of Michigan Department of Health Counselors will have access to cleaning, sanitation supplies and PPEs for both hands and equipment and will expected to clean equipment/supplies between activities

If a camper or staff member has COVID symptoms, then the following steps will be taken: assess symptoms 1. Camper /Staff Examined by Licensed Healthcare Professional to strictly isolated awaiting the results of the test and next steps from the Health Department) 2. Conduct a Rapid COVID -19 Test onsite(that cohort will be more
MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS What happens if someone tests positive for COVID at MDSC? If camper/staff test positive the family will be contacted to pick up the the camper/staff within 4-6 hours. The families of the cohort of the individual who tested positive will be contacted via phone to inform them of the potential outbreak and next steps and options will be discussed.
MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS What happens if someone tests positive for COVID at MDSC? MDSC BOD will notify the MDSC families via email of the potential outbreak MDSC BOD will notify the State of Michigan Department of Health for next steps.
MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS MDSC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS What do we need to do to prepare for arrival to camp? 1. Schedule a Covid Negative Test (within 72 hours, need provider copy) unless you have been vaccinated 14 days prior to arrival to camp 2. Begin Completing the Pre-Screening Form, completed and signed 3. MDSC COVID Camper or Staff Waiver, completed and signed 4. If Applicable: Plan of Care for Asthma Patients, signed by provider 5. IF Applicable: Medication Authorization Form, sign by provider 6. Call MDSC with questions! 7. START PACKING!!!

Pre-Screening Form MDSC COVID Waiver for Staff & Campers Copy of COVID Negative Test (PCR) within 72 hours OR Copy of COVID Vaccine (within 14 days) Signed Plan of Care for Asthma and/or Allergies Medications (not expired & original bottle) Luggage (please review the packing list online)
