Manufacturing Production Methods Overview
One-off production involves creating unique items with high labor intensity. Batch production allows for the production of specific quantities of similar products using techniques like templates, jigs, and formers. High-volume production focuses on producing large quantities of identical products cost-effectively. Various production methods are utilized depending on the type and quantity of products to be manufactured.

Commercial Production Methods: One-off (Job) production; involves producing one off products. Every item produced is different. It is labour intensive. understand that this Batch Production involves the production of a specified quantity of a product. Batches can be repeated as many times as required. This type of production method is flexible and can be used to produce batches of similar products with only a small change to the tooling. e.g. using templates and jigs. High Volume Production involves producing large numbers of identical products for a relatively low cost. The production is usually broken down into sub assemblies of smaller components. This form of mass production has a low labour cost or completely automated. Can include Continuous Flow production which involves uninterrupted 24 hrs/day production of products that are always in demand. This type of production continues because it is expensive to shut down and then re-start. Only a small workforce is needed to maintain the process.
Batch Production Techniques: Templates; accurately every time a tool that is used to mark out Jigs; place every time a tool that is used to cut or drill in the correct Formers; around to make it the same shape every time A tool that material can be shaped CAD & CAM;
