  3. Highlights of SC B1 Study Committee (SC) B1 is responsible for AC and DC insulated power cable systems for power transmission, Distribution and generation connections on land and in submarine applications, As well as for power cable systems associated with micro-grids and the integration of distributed resources. Within its technical field of activity, Study Committee B1 addresses theory, design, applications, manufacture, installation, testing, operation, maintenance and diagnostic techniques 2020 Virtual Study Committee Update Meeting November 6

  4. Highlights of SC B1 SC B1 is also engaged to actively follow the four strategic directions given by the Cigr Technical Committee. Thus paying attention: to prepare the electrical power system of the future, to make the best use of existing system, focusing on environment and sustainability and communication on power system issues for decision makers. Power Systems of the Future and Best Use of Existing Systems remain the main focus of most of the work. Newly discussed topics are often around environmental and sustainability aspects. 2020 Virtual Study Committee Update Meeting November 6
