Graduation Requirements Total of 24 credits 4 English credits 4 Math credits, including Algebra 1 and Geometry 3 Science credits, including Biology 1 -credit in World History 1 -credit in United States History -credit in American Government -credit in Economics 1 -credit in Hope 1 -credit in fine arts (art, music, and certain practical arts classes) 8 -elective credits
Graduation Requirements (contd) 2.0 cumulative unweighted GPA Must pass the FSA ELA (or a concordant) Level 3 or above on the Algebra 1 EOC (End of Course) Exam (or concordant score) Complete one credit online EOCs that count 30% of the final grade: Algebra 1 Geometry Biology U.S. History Volunteer Hours are not required for graduation but are needed for scholarships for college. World Language is not required for graduation but is required for college and scholarships.
Graduation Check List (This form will be mailed home after filling out with Counselor) Remember ultimately it is your responsibility to make sure you meet all graduation requirements Courses required for graduation Every box should be filled in with the grade you got when you took the class, or when it is you will take the course. Courses Student must pass Courses listed here are one s you must pass to graduate. Everything else is extra, but colleges will be looking at those too. Other graduation requirement and diploma designations Everything above the thick line must be met in order to graduate. Everything below the thick line pertains to merit and scholar designations which will reflect on your transcript and diploma. Your academic history can be used when filling out the SSAR when applying to colleges (which can be found by clicking on A+ grades in Focus). *Make sure to click on all years and all schools to view all
Using Transeo for Academic History On lefthand toolbar click on My Journey Click My plan Scroll down and click on + to right of Academic Plan progress It will list your requirements needed and earned
AICE DIPLOMA Are you trying to qualify for an AICE Diploma? Do you have enough credits in the right groups? Do you have 100 community service hours? Questions? See Mrs. Maisano in room 1-133 in Building 1 to receive your AICE Checklist to make sure you are on track.
ACT/SAT Things to remember when registering: Pay attention to deadlines (regular registration and uploading a photo) You should send scores to 4 colleges for free Remember (put in your phone) your username and password to check your score, counselors do not have access to your username/password

Applying to College You should be applying to colleges now, the early bird gets the worm College applications are done on-line You can apply directly on the school website or Common App website (www.commonapp.org) then link with Transeo If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, you qualify for four waivers to apply to college free. Check the school you are applying to for their procedure. Transcript requests go through Transeo. Once you have applied to the school and completed the required steps in Transeo, your transcript will be sent.
Transeo To access Transeo, click on Resources on the blue lefthand toolbar in Canvas. Next search Transeo in Clever, and hover over and heart it to make it a favorite so it s always at the top. Important notes: *When linking common app with Transeo, make sure to complete the FERPA or your counselor will not be able to submit your school profile. *If you need a letter of recommendation, you must fill out the brag sheet in the College tab in Transeo first, then email your counselor and/or teacher and ask them to write you a letter.
FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid (If they are asking for money, something is wrong) Starting October 1st, you can fill out the FAFSA which is federal financial aid www.fafsa.ed.gov You and a parent must each create an FSA ID first: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7ihhGk8mCY (make sure to keep your Id and password you will need it for years to come) After you have created FSA ID, you will need to fill out the actual FAFSA
Bright Futures Florida Lottery Florida Lottery The Florida Bright Futures Scholarships are three different lottery-funded scholarships to reward Florida high school graduates for high academic achievement. To be eligible, the student must be a Florida resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. Must meet specific coursework and minimum GPA, test score on ACT or SAT, and community service hours Apply after October 1st, 2022 at: www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/ssfad/bf/ Look for First-Time Applicants Create a student account
Helpful Hints Instructions to help you answer questions on the FFAA (Bright Futures) 1. Graduation date is 05/26/2023 2. A post-secondary school is any school that you attend after high school 3. You do not have to put the additional 4-digit part of your zip code if you don t know it 4. Your classification is a first time college freshman even if you have taken college courses. 5. If you don t know your social security number, learn it, you will need it. 6. Put the name of the college that you would like to attend in the state of Fl. If you don t know what you will be doing next year, or if you are planning to attend an out-of-state college please choose the school that you would most likely attend. 7. If you are not going to school in Florida, click that you are anyway.

Beware - - - if you must pay money to get information about an award, apply for the award, or receive the award, it might be a scam. Beware - - - No legitimate scholarship sponsor will guarantee that you will win the award. Just be cautious about any one asking for money for scholarship opportunities!

Community Service Hours Create an account in Transeo, make sure to add a parent. Submit a proposal adding a bright futures tag Once hours are completed, submit a log adding a bright futures tag. Once parent and supervisor approve, counselor will approve, and then it will roll over to focus. For a list of approved volunteer sites, go to: https://www.cfcollier.org/nonprofits/resource-directory/ Volunteer activities not approved: assisting in classrooms, school activities, and general club activities. (Students may document these hours for use in their resume, applying for jobs, schools, and scholarships, but is their responsibility to keep track of them.) The school will document a maximum of 110 hours per student. Community service hours are not required for graduation. Work hours may now be submitted and count towards hours needed for bright futures. You may not mix community service hours and work hours. If you use work hours, regardless of the scholarship, you must have 100 hours. At this time, there is not a way to submit through Transeo-information from the district will be forthcoming.
Go to fullsize image Go to fullsize image Attendance Only 9 days absent each semester are allowed before receiving credit denial. GRADES DO NOT AFFECT CREDIT DENIAL! Making an A in the class does not prevent the credit denial. A phone call and/or a note is needed to validate every absence. If you go to the doctor, dentist, or to court, make sure you turn in the documentation so those days are excused. If you are credit denied, there is an appeal form that must be filled out. The notes mentioned above will help with the credit denial appeal. However, credit recovery is not guaranteed.
