Foothill College is undergoing the development of its 5-year Facility Master Plan (FMP) with the involvement of various stakeholders including students, faculty, staff, and administrators. The FMP Study Group is prioritizing Measure G bond projects and participating in task force meetings to facilitate the planning process. Key dates for meetings and reviews have been set, with the aim to present the finalized FMP to the Board of Trustees for approval in April 2021.

  2. Facility Master Plan Background: In April 2016 the Board reviewed and approved the 2016-2021 Facilities Master Plan (FMP) for Foothill, along with De Anza and the District. Foothill College had two updates of the FMP since: June 2017 change regarding student services relocating back to the middle of campus November 2019 updates to bond list and FMP anticipating Measure G Bond election (March 3, 2020) Foothill assembled a new FMP Study Group in May 2020 Due to the anticipated changes of members of R & R The FMP Study Group consists of: Students (3) Faculty (3) Staff (3) Administrators (3)

  3. Priorities of the FMP Study Group: Prioritization of the Measure G bond project list Participate in the Development of the 5 Year Facility Master Plan for Foothill College

  4. 5 Year FMP Development: Foothill College, De Anza College and the District are developing their 5 Year FMP s. Gensler (contractor) has been hired to help to facilitate the development of the FMP s. FMP Study Group is participating in 6 task force meetings with Gensler to assist in developing the Foothill s FMP. Adding 10-14 additional members (faculty, staff, and administrators) of the college to represent a cross section of the campus divisions (Instruction, Student Services and Administrative Services) Infinity group leaders asked to join Students will participate in up to 3 focus group sessions Additional Personnel (faculty, staff, deans)/Students maybe added if task force requires input/discussion from particular program(s)

  5. 5 Year FMP Dates: Oct. 9, 2020 1stof six task force meetings. Task force meetings will be from Oct. 2020 through February 2021. Student focus groups (3) to be scheduled March 2021 - R&R Council reviews and approves 5 Year FMP for recommendation to the President April 2021 5 Year FMP goes to the Board of Trustees for review and approval

Prioritization of the Measure G Bond List: Started where we left off last year Work started last year November & December 2019 with former FMP Study Group With approval from the recent FMP Study Group VP of Finance and Administrative Services working with District Facilities reviewed and prioritized the Measure G bond list The new FMP Study Group over the last few weeks reviewed, provided discussion/input worked to add information and reprioritize the bond projects R & R Council - first read to review and discuss bond project list

Measure G Bond List Dates: Oct. 9, 2020 First Read of Measure G bond list Oct. 14, 2020 Town Hall (add to Budget Proposal) Oct. 16, 2020 Second Read of Measure G bond list Nov. 2, 2020 Board Meeting (with De Anza and District Bond items) January February 2021 first issuance of bonds to fund Measure G projects

Measure G Bond Project Key Areas: Equity is represented in projects including: Affordable housing to meet the needs of students and personnel Adding additional gender neutral restrooms and changing areas for student athletes Student Centered look at the student perspective, make improvements so students, faculty, and staff feel that Foothill and the Sunnyvale Center are beautiful, inviting, accessible and safe places to take classes, work and hang out. Accessibility & Safety: ADA improvements to our campus to allow for better access for our students, colleagues, community members and visitors to our campus. Wifi Connectivity for faculty offices so both faculty & students can access the network with whatever device they are using. Path lighting that is safer and more efficient with LED lights Instructional Area Improvements: Improvements to classrooms Enhancing outdoor spaces that can be used for teaching and gathering Creating and improving our community spaces

Measure G Bond Key Areas Continued: Infrastructure Improvements: 62 Year old campus Boilers, chillers, HVAC improvements Electrical, mechanical, water, fire suppression Roof replacement composite shingle roofs Sustainability Systems are efficient, clean Reduce greenhouse gases, moving toward carbon neutral while updating and replacing old systems

  10. Prioritization Levels: Measure G bond list prioritization levels: I is high priority II is next level of priority III is lower priority
