  1. Quote Journal

  2. Directions EL Konisburg is very good at Showing, not telling and using figures of speech to make her stories more exciting. While you are reading A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver be on the look-out for the quotes on the handout provided. Think: What is meant by what the character is saying? Why is he/she saying it?

  3. Your Task In small groups (no more than 3), you will create a digital quote journal with either PowerPoint or Prezi. Each slide will contain The quote Speaker Who the speaker is speaking to Context (What is happening in the story at this point?) Meaning (What does the quote mean?) ***A picture (clipart, Google images, etc.) that is relevant to the quote.

  4. Once your journal is complete... You will upload/imbed the assignment onto EdModo. I will show you how to do this once the due date gets closer.

  5. YOUR PRESENTATION MUST INCLUDE A Title Slide: Presentation Title (quote journal) Your names Your Class Period Picture A Divider Slide introducing each tale Tale Name (i.e. Abbot Suger s Tale) Picture

  6. When is it due? We will work on our digital quote journals on our laptop days: Wednesdays. I will have check-ups for each section. Procrastination is NOT an option especially since you will have class time to work. PLAN!!!! Come prepared with your information already written down so all you have to do is type it out. YOU CAN work on this at home. If you each are assigned quotes- you can make the slides, save it to your EdModo backpack, and copy and paste them into one document. Final DUE DATE:
