Access Revive MS Support Services (ARMSS) The Challenge: How can we export our experience and knowledge of MS to support people across Scotland? How
What is Attend Anywhere? Attend Anywhere is a web-based platform that helps Revive clinicians offer video call access to their services as part of their business as usual , day-to-day operations. Apart from internet access, all people need to use Attend Anywhere is the Google Chrome web browser on a computer or Android mobile device, or an app on Apple iPads or iPhones. Computer users will also need a web camera (usually built into laptops).
How do people use Attend Anywhere? Instead of travelling to their appointment, patients or service users enter the clinic s online waiting area from a web browser on their computer, smartphone, or tablet. Revive clinicians are notified when they arrive, and the clinicians joins the consultation when ready.
The service user experience Service users don t need to set up any kind of user account: they just click the Start video call button on the health or care service s web page (or link in an email or text message) and follow the prompts. The personal information they provide on entry is not stored beyond the end of the call.
The provider experience Providers sign into the Attend Anywhere Management Platform from a web browser, select the Waiting Area that relates to their clinical service, then select a patient from the queue.

Being used in Scotland In NHS- Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Lanarkshire and Western Isles health boards By MND Nurses, Dermatology, Diabetes, and some GP surgeries Reviveis the only 3rd sector organisation Target of 50 has been achieved Most suitable for nurse consultations, SLT, counselling, mindfulness
Benefits to staff/the workforce in using Attend Anywhere? Minimising travel required for home visits More easily reaching patients/service users in remote areas Reducing the spread of infections Eliminating the possible transmission of infectious diseases between patients and medical staff. This is particularly an issue where spread of flu or MRSA is a concern. Requiring minimal training for staff to use, being similar to FaceTime and Skype calls Ease of access by health professionals to source specialist knowledge
Potential benefits to patients Limits their travel time for consultations Extending care to rural areas where accessibility to health services may be limited Access to support for housebound Limiting their exposure to infections which they may otherwise encounter during consultation visits Enabling them to take part in healthcare consultations at a time and place to suit them
What are the potential drawbacks of using Attend Anywhere? It requires a reasonably strong and reliable internet connection for the video consultation to go smoothly. This may be a concern in areas with limited or poor network connection. Circumstances in which patient hearing, vision, or cognition is impaired may be less ideal for Attend Anywhere. Circumstances in which a physical examination is critical to successful assessment are not suited to this technique. (though could have MS Nurse present)
