Features of Himachal Pradesh Economy Resource Endowment: Land ,Water , Minerals Forests etc. Demographic Trends: Scientific study of population is known as demography. It encompasses the study of size, structure and distribution of population and spatial or temporal changes in them in response to birth, migration, ageing and death. The various aspects of demographic trends are: (i) Size of the Population (ii) Rate of Growth (iii) Birth Rate and Death Rate (iv) Density of Population (v) Sex Ratio (vi) Life Expectancy at Birth and (vii) Literacy Ratio. Trends in State Income: State Income (State Domestic Product or SDP) is the total value of goods and services produced during a financial year within the boundaries of the state counting without duplication. In a growing economy like India the role and functions of the state government have increased in terms of coverage and intensity. The state govt. mobilises financial resources through direct and indirect taxes, non tax revenue, share of central taxes and grant in aid from central government to meet the various expenditure .
