  3. Your eyes will water after you figure out what the koala looks like!!!! The koala s fur color is grey ,grey-brown , white and black .The fur is lighter on the under side and spotted on the rear end . They are large , wide head and white tufted, round , ears ,they have a visible tail, their nose is smooth ,black , and is shaped like an oval .They have short , strong limbs that are tipped with sharp claws. They have two opposable thumbs and three fingers on each hand . They have rough paw pads . Their weight is 4kg-15kg (8.8lbs-33lbs) . Their size is 60cm-85cm (24 in-34in) . Now you can spot a koala when your in its territory .

  4. If youre in a race with a koala, youre going to win, but when making noises the koala wins The koala s top speed is 10kph (2mph) .They are kind of slow like sloths but not as slow .Koalas move around in the trees by jumping. The first step is to grip the tree trunk with their front paws( this is helped by their rough paw pads and sharp claws). Then moving both of their back legs up the tree together , helping them get higher up in the tree . Their two opposable thumbs and three fingers on both hands means that koalas are able to grip onto the smoothest bark when climbing and feeding in the trees. They make a noise that sounds like a clug sound , golk sound or gulp. It sounds kind of croaky too . Flip to the next page to hear what these amazing animals sound like

  5. Photos and Sounds

  6. Do You eat leaves in the Trees?? Koalas are herbivores , why is this? Well koalas eat eucalyptus leaves in order to survive .Eucalyptus leaves are strong ,fibrous , and sometimes toxic making them inedible to other herbivorous animals but koalas have an evolved to fill this gap in the ecosystem .They have large cheek patches where the eucalyptus leaves are stored .They don t eat any meat or hunt any animals it s actually the other way around . But they are around 600 different species of eucalyptus although koalas seem to feed on 30 of them which depends on the habitat surrounding them .

  7. Koalas remember what I told you about kungfu fighting use it now before your dinner Koalas have a fear and one of the fears is these furious predators that eat koalas! These predators are birds of prey, dingo , and humans . Baby koalas are in more danger because they are attacked by different animals including snakes , but both are most threatened by domestic animals most known as dogs that not only attack koalas but are also known to spread disease into local populations . This is one of the biggest threats to koalas in certain areas as large numbers of individuals .Koalas have been affected by the Chlamydia bacterium, which can be treated with antibiotics . Another sad threat is habitat loss to growing human settle ments, tourists developments , and last of all forest fires that can spread fast in the semiarid regions .The koala is threatened by these things so please if you love koalas don t kill them or tear down its habitat .

  8. Habitats The koala lives in Australia in eucalyptus, inland, and coastal forests.
