(12/12/20) ACIP voted to approve recommendations for the Pfizer-BioNTECH mRNA vaccine for adults 16 and older, in alignment with the FDA s EUA (see FDA item below) and in accordance with ACIP s recommendation for allocating initial vaccine supplies (see CDC/ACIP item below). FDA issues an EUA for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. (12/11/20) The EUA authorizes use for prevention of SARS-CoV- 2 in individuals 16 years of age and older. As noted in a FDA Press Release, The data support the known and potential benefits outweigh the known and potential risks. 3
