PAMAV Report 2022: Advancing Mineral Asset Valuation in Europe

Polish Association of Mineral Asset Valuators (PAMAV) has been actively involved in the harmonization of Polish and international mineral resource reporting and valuation systems. The association's main activities in 2021/2022 include updating the POLVAL Mineral Resources Valuation Code, expanding the Competent Geologists Section, and participating in EU programs. PAMAV faces challenges in building awareness among geologists, miners, and key stakeholders, as well as in gaining recognition for their valuation code. The outlook includes plans for active participation in European Federation of Geologists (EFG) activities and assisting Ukraine in mining infrastructure development.

Main activities 2021/2022 Preparation and publication of a new version of the POLVAL Mineral Resources Valuation Code Creation a bridge between Polish mineral resources classification and PERC/JORC and thus enabling full harmonization of Polish and international reporting and valuation systems Activities towards enlargement of Competent Geologists Section and increasing the number of Eurogeologists among PAMAV members Participation in EU programs: INTERMIN, ROBOMINERS, CROWDTHERMAL, ENGIE, REFLECT, CRM-GEOTHERMAL(to be signed) Organisation of webinars on Circular economy in the mining industry - monitoring strategies, practices and principles Internal workshops and trainings Opinions and assessments for courts and mining companies EFG - The Voice of European Geologists

Challenges Building PAMAV awareness amongst professionals mostly professional geologists and miners Building PAMAV awareness amongst key stakeholders: Administration, Courts, Financial Institutions, Business, especially mining and mining-related industries Building further awareness on the appplication of the POLVAL Mineral Resources Valuation Code Creating officially recognized harmonizing tool between PERC/JORC and Polish classification of mineral resources EFG - The Voice of European Geologists

Outlook Active participation in EFG Panels of Experts and other EFG activities Becoming licensing body within EFG Steps towards gaining formal recognition for POLVAL Mineral Resources Valuation Code in Poland Joining IMVAL project: http://www.valmin.org/imval_template.asp Assisting Ukraine in building intellectual infrastructure for reviving mining activities EFG - The Voice of European Geologists
