  5. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Application Application can be submitted by Student in a doctoral study programme at VSE (in full-time or combined study form) Member of academic staff employed at VSE Other research team members may be students of a doctoral study programme and students of a master s study programme at VSE, members of academic or R&D staff at VSE. 5

  6. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Project Type Student scientific project (a faculty, or inter-faculty, project*). The project duration** of this type is 12 to 36 months. Project for the organisation of a student scientific conference held in the Czech Republic (a faculty project only). The project duration** of this type is 12 to 24 months. In the year of the IGC call, the applicant may submit only 1 application for a scientific project and 1 application for the organisation of a student scientific conference, and may participate as a member of research teams of other projects The application shall be submitted in English. * The possibility of supporting inter-faculty projects is always regulated in the call for IGC for the relevant year. ** The project duration is the period since the project start date until the approval of the final report by the Grant Committee. 6

  7. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Project Definition A faculty project is a project addressing a theme involving fields of the given faculty with a research team primarily consisting of academic staff and students of the given faculty. (the team may also include representatives of other faculties if this is essential for the project). A project is considered to be an inter-faculty project if it addresses an interdisciplinary theme involving fields of different faculties. The project must be designed in such a way that at least two different disciplines are linked through the research topic, aiming at comprehensive research. At least 80 % of the funds requested for this project must be divided equally between at least two faculties of VSE. 7

  8. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Application Team composition If the project proposer is doctoral student the proposer s supervisor (research project guarantor) is always a research team member, the application includes the supervisor s workload (hours/year) academic worker - the research team must consist of students of a master s or doctoral study programme at VSE. The number of students of doctoral and master s study programmes in a research team is at least equal to the number of other members of the research team. Recommendation for doctoral students: another doctoral student in the team in case the principal research cannot continue in the project Recommendation for academic workers: more students than academic workers in the team In the event that the principal researcher is not able to continue in the project, the co-researcher fulfilling the IGC conditions becomes the principal researcher, otherwise the project is terminated. 8

  9. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Application Budget preparation The grant can cover: wage costs, scholarships of students (recommended rate for scholarship: DS 200 CZK/hour and MS 150 CZK/hour), social and health insurance , material costs (material, assets, books, software-material, etc.), costs for services (contracts, consultations, consultancy, book borrowing, publication and editing costs, software- services, national conference registration fees, etc.), travel costs directly associated with the project, other labour costs based on the agreement to complete a job (DPP) for team members.. Agreements for activities only if such activities are not part of the researcher s job description, to be used only exceptionally. indirect costs (15 % of the total amount for the project). Note: The adequacy of financial requirements will be evaluated in terms of available financial resources for the specific research. 9

  10. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Application Budget Preparation Scholarships and other personal expenses of students are at least 75 % of the total amount of academics wages and scholarships The grant funds are intended for students and academic staff of VSE who are individually named in the project. Any requests concerning expansion of the team and changes in the budget must be addressed to the respective Faculty Grant Council . The grant cannot be used for educational activities such as study stays, internships, etc., or for teaching or administrative activities. Only non-investment costs can be covered by the grant. 10

  11. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Application Publication Outputs Each student scientific project must result in a publication output. Evaluation of quality of anticipated publication outputs - specified in the Criteria for Evaluating Proposals for Student Scientific Projects. In case of re-submission of an application for support of a new project, the proposer is required to provide evidence of publication outputs of the previous project supported by IGS funds. Note: The publication outputs should correspond to the outputs stated in the grant application. The publication outputs must state that the work was carried out with the financial support of the Internal Grant Agency of VSE, including the project number. 11

  12. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Application Submission The grant application is submitted through the faculty grants administrator using the electronic form in InSIS. PAPERLESS The IGC Project Card is part of the grant application SUBMITTED through InSIS. The proposal is evaluated in terms of the expected contribution of the project to the scientific development of the faculty and VSE, the quality of expected publication outputs, the elaboration of the project proposal and the adequacy of financial requirements. * administrators are listed in the Faculty Grant Councils table (website) or on the intranet of the Research Office 12

  13. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Sanctions in case the project was evaluated "unfulfilled" If in the previous years an IGC project of such a proposer was evaluated "unfulfilled", a proposal of an IGC project made by this proposer will be not approved for the duration of 5 years. 13

  14. www.vse.cz/english vsecz.english Projects Approved for Funding Grant funds management is subject to the Rules of the Internal Grant Competition Rules valid in the year of the call. Funding for the project is provided on the basis of an agreement concluded between the researcher and VSE. By signing the agreement, the researcher, when carrying out the project, undertakes to adhere to all related regulations, measures and instructions and use grant funds duly and economically and in compliance with the purposes and objections specified in the project and all generally binding legal provisions, VSE regulations, regulations of the respective faculty and the Rules of the Internal Grant Competition. 14
