The ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) plays a crucial role in university admissions, determining students' overall positions based on their performance. The Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) processes applications and administers access schemes, while also calculating ATAR scores for NSW HSC students. Scaling, ATAR calculation methods, and the story of the ATAR provide insight into this ranking system. Knowing when to apply through UAC is essential for Year 11 students planning their university journey.
