Curricular Internship The curricular internship is a training experience, included in the study plan of the degree programme, aimed at completing academic education through practical experiences in Italy or abroad. Carrying out a curricular internship means spending a period of time working at a company or institution and earning university credits at the end of the activity. Taking up an internship is not compulsory (at IR, you may include it in your study plan among your electives), but is an opportunity for you to learn, grow, and contribute in a professional setting. 5

  8. IR Curricular Internship IR Students can choose to include Internship in the study plans and carry it out during the second year. It is also possible to set it up during the summer at the end of the first year (in this case, ask to Programme Manager how to proceed). In both cases you must insert it in your study plan. Otherwise, the procedure will be blocked by our Internship online service. However, it is advisable to include in the study plan an additional elective activity, other than the internship, in order to have 120 CFU required for the graduation, in case you are unable to carry out the internship experience. 8

  9. IR Curricular Internship From the a.y. 2022/2023 internships, as well as all other academic activities, must be carried out in presence, the academic tutor only, once checked the internship program can authorize students to work remotely. 9

IR Curricular Internship You can carry out: Internship cod. 67739 TIROCINIO LM 8 CFU (for activity in Italy) It lasts from 200 to 240 hours Internship cod. 82330 TIROCINIO ALL ESTERO LM 8 CFU (for activity abroad) It lasts from 200 to 240 hours The academic tutor is Prof. Massimiliano Trentin 10

IR Internship for the final examination For those students who carry out this kind of internship, you can add to your study plan one of the following internships: Cod. 82327 PREPARAZIONE PROVA FINALE ALL'ESTERO LM preparation for the final examination abroad (12 CFU) (300 hours - 12 CFU) Recognized only if carried out as part of the scholarships for the preparation of the final exam abroad or the mobility programs of the University of Bologna to study abroad Cod. 81354 TIROCINIO IN PREPARAZIONE DELLA PROVA FINALE ALL'ESTERO Internship for the preparation abroad of the final dissertation (300 hours - 12 CFU) 11

  12. IR Curricular Internship The duration of the internship is calculated by multiplying the number of CFUs by 25. The number of hours can be extended up to a maximum of 20%. All hours performed beyond those stipulated in the procedure are not authorized and, consequently, will not be covered by insurance. 12

  14. Curricular Internship: It is also possible to search for new companies and internships on your own. In this case, please read the information on IR website or send us an email with the name of the company and an indication of a reference person (name and email) 14

  15. Curricular Internship: The internship procedure will be followed by our Internship online service. You will receive via email all the instructions to carry it out. If they are not followed correctly or not followed at all, the procedure stops. 15

Curricular Internship: Health and Safety In order to set up the curricular internship, you have to complete the compulsory modules on Health and Safety: General Training (Module 1) - Duration: 4 hours - Validity: permanent - Module 1 is preparatory for Modules 2 Specific Training - Low risk (Module 2) - Duration: 4 hours - Validity: 5 years 16

Curricular Internship: to sum up You can t carry out the internship if: you have not inserted it in your study plan you have not completed the compulsory modules on Health and Safety (module 1 and 2) you are not allowed to print the Attendance sheet In order to guarantee insurance coverage and recognition of the entire experience, the internship hours can only be performed within the start/end dates provided in attendance sheet. Don t start any activity without having completed the compulsory procedure! 17

MAECI-CRUI Internship: The CRUI Foundation publishes each year three Calls for curricular internships at the Embassies, Consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI). The publications follow this calendar: I Call: published in January, taking place in the period May - August II Call: published in May, taking place in the period September December III Call: published in October, taking place in the period January - April of the following year 18

MAECI-CRUI Internship: Compulsory requirements: Having Italian citizenship You must have the student status until the end of the internship Being less than 28 years old Having an average at least 27/30 Having acquired at least 60 credits Having at least the level B2 of English language (certified by the University or by an official certification body) The lack of one of these requirements excludes the chance to apply to this internship 19

  20. International Mobility Programmes 1/2 Erasmus + Internship Mobility (ex Erasmus Placement Program) is a European 2/3 months Internship program financed by the European Commission. The call is published every year around March. Both students and graduates can carry it out (NOTE: Graduates must apply when they are still students) You receive a grant per month from the EU and internships should start in a period between the beginning of September and the end of June. 20

  21. International Mobility Programmes 2/2 The EP experience can be recognized: as your curricular internship in order to get the credits expected for it; as the internship for the preparation for the final examination; as extra-credits not necessary to gain your degree.
