4. Paper A: The scientific and theoretical basis of psychiatry Paper B: Critical review and the clinical topics in psychiatry The papers will each comprise of 200 items made up of MCQ best 1 of 5 and EMI questions.

6. HEKSS MRCPsych Course College requirement to attend an MRCPsych Course. Attendance is monitored and feedback forms part of ARCP. HEKSS trainees have opportunity to get an extra qualification from MRCPsych course.

8. MSc Course Post Graduate Certificate Post Graduate Diploma Masters 120 credits + 16,000 word dissertation 60 Credits 120 credits (3 modules) (6 modules)

9. Year 1 : PG Cert MDM84 Core Principles of Psychiatry MDM85 Behavioural Science and Psychotherapy MDM86 Biological Sciences in Psychiatry Covers material for Paper A Assessments for modules will be similar format to Paper A exam (SBAs and EMIs) Based at Sussex Education Centre, Hove. Run by BSMS on alternate Thursdays

10. Year 2 MRCPsych Course All core trainees will continue to attend regular teaching in Year 2 in preparation for Paper B. Research Methods and Critical Appraisal module run by BSMS, subsidised by deanery, available to trainees in one of three 5 day blocks throughout year. This will otherwise run separately to the PG dip/ Masters modules. Teaching will most likely be based at Sussex Education Centre, Hove. Run by SPT on alternate Thursdays

11. Later modules on MSc Choice to continue on to PG diploma or Masters. MDM122 Communication, Learning and Teaching in Health and Social Care MDM110 Leadership and Change Management in Clinical Services MDM10 Research Methods and Critical Appraisal Year two modules are assessed by 3,000 or 4,000 word written assignments. Based at Falmer Campus, University of Brighton For Masters students + dissertation 16,000 words.

13. Funding All CTs will be expected to be enrolled on Postgraduate Certificate in Psychiatry. Your Trust s study leave budget and a HEKSS bursary will cover the majority of the cost. Trainees who wish to progress to the Postgraduate Diploma or MSc Psychiatry will be required to self-fund this portion of their study (on top of study leave budget).
