  4. Emphasis is on stick work and shooting. Pitch Drill Goalie outlets to one wing defensemen, who carries up field then throws a long crossfield pass to the other wing defensemen. At the same time this is happening, the middle defensemen runs up middle and circles towards the second wing defensemen. The middle defensemen catches pass and carries to score.

  5. 3 v 2 This is the last drill of our shooting progression and works on ball movement and finishing! Passing & Finishing Drill" This drill is for all shortsticks both offensively and defensively. Each player must rotate to both. Players should play to their strengths on offense lefty on right, righty on left.. Point guard type in middle

  6. 2 on 1 2 on 1 ground ball drills can be generated at all four points. "Ground Balls" Bookend lines are on same team, while the middle line is alone. This drill focuses on man/ball recognition in the unsettled situation. Ball is rolled out from behind the players.

  7. 3 on 2 Same concept as 2 on 1 but with more players "Ground Balls" Ball is rolled out from behind the players.

  8. Hopkins Field Build Up 2 v 1, 3 v 2, 4 v 3 Ball Starts with a 2 v 1. The 3 players stay in and a player from each group is added to make a 3 v 2 then repeated again to make a 4-3. After completion of 4-3 a new group begins with 2 v 1.

  9. Down the side drill 4 v3 Ball starts at the midfield moves down the side,then to X and then to the backside. Original mid cuts to backside, looks for pass.

  10. Drop fast break 4 v3 Both Attack and Close defenders start at the midfield. They then drop as the middie brings the ball from the midfield. There should be multiple groups of attack and defense so that you can get quick repititions.

  11. 2 v 1 Ground balls to fast break or down the side 2 v 1 GB 2 v 1 GB

  12. Dartmouth Drill: 2 v 1 at each end - 2 v 2 ground ball

  13. Trail Drill: Build up from 2 v 2 ground ball to 3 v 2 to 4 v 3 to 5 v 4 repeat!

  14. 3 v 2 long pole drill small field to work on ball handling and 3 v 2 SITUATIONS. Need 5 long poles at each end. It goes 3 v 2 one way and the 2 that played defense plus one more go the other way against a new 2 on defense at the other end. G G

  15. Horseshoe Drill before ball is thrown in. 5 v 4 Offense Offense Defense Defense Offense Offense Defense Defense Ball is thrown in by coach from the midfield. By switching where the ball is thrown each time, the players get the best chance mimic real unsettled situations. Offense

  18. 4 on 3 Fast breaks Ball is outletted to wing Middie who then throws it to opposite Middie crossing. This Middie then draws slide and runs the L break. D D D

  19. 5 v 4 Fast Break 4th defender runs in as the ball pass the midfield. D Ball is outletted to wing Middie who then throws it to opposite Middie crossing the field. The Middie who caught outlet follows the play. D D G D The Middie with ball then draws slide or throws ball down side. Once the ball has been thrown down side this Middie heads to crease. Trailing Middie replaces up top.

  20. 6 v 5 Fast Break 4th defender runs in as the ball pass the midfield. D Ball is outletted to wing Middie who then throws it to opposite Middie crossing the field. The Middie who caught outlet follows the play. in from the midfield after 6th middie comes come both middies have gone D D G D The Middie with ball then draws slide or throws ball down side. Once the ball has been thrown down side this Middie heads to crease. Trailing Middie replaces up top. by. D 5th defender runs in as the ball pass the midfield.
