Enhancing Nursing Associate Education: Key Developments and Collaborations
Validation of the FdSc Health and Social Care Practice Nursing Associate program in 2017 led to significant developments and partnerships. This includes adapting to meet NMC standards, working closely with Consortium partners, and involving Service Users and Carers. The focus is on continuous improvement, interprofessional learning opportunities, and enhancing the overall educational experience for nursing associates.

Overview of delivery FdSc Health and Social Care Practice was validated in May 2017 for two apprenticeship routes - Assistant Practitioner (AP) and Nursing Associate (TNA) The first intake of Apprentices was September 2017, all AP (37) Successful tender to run TNA to start March 2018 (38) September 2018 - AP (8), TNA (58) February 2019 - TNA (47)

Interprofessional Learning (IPL) Two modules shared with BSc Hons Public Health (SB403 and SB405) Other opportunities- IPE conference for first year is a wellbeing conference enabling students from a range of professions to learn together and second year is with service user input. IPL in simulated skills learning - future possibility includes a rolling programme, equivalent of half day OTJT, to include students from other professions for example paramedics, occupational therapists, podiatrists and nurses. Venue possibilities include ADL suite in Eastbourne, Leaf Hospital or Varley Flat UoB Interprofessional Learning Strategy (submitted previous Gateway)
