OHSAA ELIGIBILITY WHAT DO I NEED TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL THIS FALL? Incoming 8th Graders pass any 5 classes the previous spring term in 7th grade. Incoming 7th Graders No Credit requirements Must be enrolled in 5 classes for fall 2019
OHSAA ELIGIBILITY WHAT DO I NEED TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR HIGH SCHOOL THIS FALL? Incoming 9th Graders Need to have passed any 5 classes in spring term of 8th grade year. Incoming 10th-12th Graders Must pass the equivalent of 5 credits the previous term. Physical Ed Courses do not count. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 5 credits in fall 2019.
OHSAA REQUIREMENTS, CONT Summer School courses cannot be used to regain eligibility. Athletes become ineligible when they turn 20 years old. Athletes are limited to 8 semesters of eligibility in high school.
GRANDVIEW ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Each student must have a 1.67 Cumulative GPA or higher for the last grading period. Weekly Checks: Eligibility is determined each Tuesday. Cannot be failing more than one class. Grace Period have one week to raise grades. If ineligible, cannot regain eligibility until grades are raised on the next weekly report (no last minute grade changes).
OUTSIDETEAMS OHSAA RULES Athletes are not allowed to compete/practice/tryout in their SAME SPORT until their school season is complete. Examples: Church League Volleyball, Amateur Golf Invitationals, Travel or Club Teams. Before participating (tryouts, practice, competition) on an outside team, contact the AD.
TRANSFERS If youare a new student thisyear inGrandview (10th grade and above), you must complete an OHSAA transferaffidavit. Have to establish residency in Grandview. Please see Brad Bertani to complete immediately before you play in anycompetition.

GRANDVIEW HEIGHTS ACTIVITY CODE OF CONDUCT Activity Code of Conduct (copy on 8to18 registration and athletics web site) - All participants agree to not possess, use, sell, or Distribute tobacco, illegal drugs, over the counter Medications, or body altering or performance Enhancing chemicals like steroids - 24 Hours a day/12 months a year grades 7-12 at ANY location.
CODE OF CONDUCT, CONTINUED 1) Voluntary Referral a. ONE time in an academic career 7-12 b. Must self-report prior to discovery c. NO PENALTY d. Assessment is required typically by family doctor.
CODE OF CONDUCT, CONTINUED First Violation: LOSE 100% of current season OR 20% of season & 20 hours of community Service/Assessment Second Violation: LOSE 100% of current season OR 50% season & /40 hours of community Service/Counseling Third Violation: One Calendar Year of athletic eligibility lost
CODE OF CONDUCT REPORTING PROCESS First report should be to the Principal, Assistant Principal or Athletic Director. Administrator will inform the coach. Administrator will set up a meeting with the parent(s) and student. Athletic Director and Assistant Principal will ensure that requirements are met.
ATTENDANCE POLICY Must be in school by 8:20 a.m. to participate in that day s athletic events (practice or competition) UNLESS you have an EXCUSED absence. MS Policy half day of attendance required. Examples of Excused absences: Doctor/Dentist appointment, college visit, funeral, medical emergency Special permission for extraordinary absences may be approved by either the principal, assistant principal or athletic director.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS Transportation all students must travel with their team. Parents may transport only their own children if prior written notice is provided to the Head Coach (email) and the HC approves. Social Media Be careful. Hazing/Bullying - Not Tolerated! Sportsmanship Respect your opponents and officials. Communication with Coaches 24 hour rule Face to Face Meetings are best
NCAA ELIGIBILITY CENTER If you plan on participating in intercollegiate athletics at the NCAA Division I or II level you must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
