  3. THE COCHLEAR IMPLANT Founded by Graeme Clark Magnet in head; connects through to cochlear Left one since Jan 2002 (13 years Right since July 2007 (7 1/2 years) Users

  4. THE RF Links teachers voice to cochlear implant via radio To use turn it on by sliding the switch on the top to green Look at the screen and wait until it has lit up and you can see: HO4

  5. RF CONTINUED Have the RF Microphone at chest height. Refrain from wearing necklaces as this causes interference When you finish talking to the class, please turn it off by sliding the switch back so you can't see any green. Except if it's an extraordinarily noisy classroom you do not have to turn it back on when you just speak to me one on one

  6. SOUNDFIELD Projects your voice, from the FM out through the classroom. When students get louder, Soundfield gets louder. Can be slightly daunting at first, as you will be able to hear yourself, students may also find it irritating at first. Benefits are significant

  7. SOUNDFIELD CONTINUED To operate, turn it on by switching the switch on the bottom Blue light will flash and when it connects to the FM it will stay on blue. No matter how daunting it is, it must stay on, you will get used to it

  8. TIPS Sudden shouting Problems, come quietly to me Paper against FM Science; take off for experiments
