  3. Academic Personnel Office Stop-The-Clock (STC) AKA .. Academic appointees at the assistant level can be granted a STC to extend the period before which they are evaluated for Associate Professor. STC A STC will also defer your 5th year appraisal. Eight-year Clock Time Off the Clock Faculty may receive one extra year (up to a maximum of two years for separated events), for each newly born infant, or new placement (adoption or foster care) of a child under age five for whom they have at substantial responsibility. Extension of 8-Year Limit Totaling no more than two years during the probationary period. *** Stoppage of the clock
