Remote learning entitlements: Examples from the national overviews of practice Our Lady of Loretto The curriculum on offer is broad and the school together with parents are working to achieve a balance. Learning grids are shared weekly and cover literacy, numeracy, health and wellbeing, PE, Science as a minimum, IDL and one area of expressive arts per week is also encouraged. The school has continued to work to seek the views of parents as well as provide a broad range of resources to help them support children, including devices, number lines diennes materials, stationery, art materials and paper packs. Parents liked the informal and regular contact with teachers. Changes in approaches to communication has resulted in agreed guides being developed to address certain matters regarding who and when to make contact. The school has developed a range of handy help sheets to try and reduce anxiety and provide support with the online learning and address the technical challenges. The following example of a weekly learning grid has been shared by the school.

Remote learning entitlements: Examples from the national overviews of practice Primary 1 : Learning at Home Week beg. : 25th January 2021 Monday 1.Phonics- New sound is sh Tuesday 1.Complete the sh sound worksheets. Wednesday 1.Watch The Highway Rat video. Have an adult stop the video at 5.58 minutes . Thursday 1.Watch the story The Highway Rat again. Friday 1.Ask an adult to read out your sh words. Without looking, try to write them down correctly. Literacy -Listen to the sh jolly phonics song using the youtube link. 2.Look at the vocabulary list for your next book and practise these words. 2. Create a wanted poster for the rat. Make sure you draw a detailed picture and write a good description! 2. Talk about what you think will happen next and draw your prediction on the crystal ball sheet. 2.Complete the phonics read and write worksheet. 2.Have a go at making the sound on your own and do the action (check the top right corner of the video). 3. Have an adult read you your next story book. Have a go if you can. 3. Practise laying out your alphabet flashcards in the correct order. 3. Go on a book scavenger hunt! 3. Practise reading the simple sentences on the powerpoint. Try your best to sound out the words. 3.Try to sound out the words in the sh word list and copy them down in your green jotter. Draw a picture of some things that have a sh sound in them. 4.Literacy google meet 11.30am- go over the new sound! Numeracy & Mathematics 4.Ordinal numbers revision. 4.Practise counting in 10s up to 100. 5.Watch the months of the year video. 4.Numeracy google meet 11.30am- months of the year. 4. Look at the powerpoint and use it to revise your numbers to 20, odds and evens, days of the week and shape names. -play the ordinal numbers online game. 5. Play the counting in 10s online game. 6. Differentiated activity will be sent to your maths group. 6.Have a go at saying these on your own. 5. Differentiated activity. 5.Have a look at the ordinal numbers powerpoint and try to answer the questions correctly. 5.Differentiated activity. 7. Differentiated activity will be sent. 6.Complete the ordinal numbers worksheet activity.

Food Pyramid and emotional wellbeing/telling the truth. -Complete your daily Health and Wellbeing check in. -30 day life skills challenge. Days 11-15. -Fit activity for kids- what's your name? -Zumba kids video. -Food pyramid cut and stick activity. Stick the foods into the correct category! -Watch/read the stories about the importance of telling the truth. Talk about this with an adult. -Complete the telling the truth worksheet activity. -Follow the recipe to make some lovely shortbread! IDL Scotland -Watch the video clip about Robert Burns. Colour in the picture of Robert Burns or draw a picture of him. -Have a go at the Scottish version of head, shoulder, knees and toes! Send us a video of you doing this if you like. -Listen to and learn the song You cannae shove your granny aff a bus . Use the powerpoint and youtube link to help you! - Cannae shove yer granny aff a bus translation activity. -Find out what the national flower of Scotland is. Record your answers on the template.
