Coaching Requirements Coaches must be Approved and Rostered To Sports Engine and Hockey Canada (HCR) Coaches must be properly certified - See link below for certification requirements Hockey Saskatchewan Coaching Requirements On-Ice team Staff must: Wear CSA Helmet with chin strap Ensure all players are wearing proper equipment Including neck guards Prairie Storm Minor Hockey WWW.PSMHA.CA

Medical and Injury Reporting Medical forms are required prior to the first on ice time Please have parents submit as soon as possible if they have not Forms can be found on the webpage at www.psmha.ca/managers Injuries requiring a player to seek medical attention, or if they miss more than 3 team on ice events or miss for more than 2 weeks due to an ongoing illness it MUST be reported to your Division Director. The Hockey Canada Injury Report form needs to completed and submitted to Hockey Saskatchewan in the event you are claiming under that policy - this form MUST be submitted within 90 days of the incident. A doctors note and the Return to Play form are required if you have sought ANY form of medical attention All teams should have a safety person who will maintain the medical kit.   6. Team Financials and Banking All teams should have a treasurer who will keep track of the financials. Monthly financial updates MUST be provided to the team. Budgets should be agreed upon and approved by the team before team fees are collected. Teams need TWO signers who are NOT the coaches. Accounts can be set up with outgoing e-transfers with dual approval. A letter for the bank is included on the manager s Resource Page. An example financial spreadsheet is provided on the webpage at www.psmha.ca/managers. Please feel free to use that format or your own if you have found something that works better. All team accounts MUST be closed by May 15. Managers will be provided with a link to their team invoice. The team invoice will include the credit your team has based on the number of players on your team, assigned practice and game hours, socks, coach insurance fees and anything extra that may apply to your team. This will be issued by the beginning of November so you can follow your team financials.   7. Team Apparel Team apparel is NOT required and should not be an obligation placed on a team. Should teams which to purchase team apparel it can be sourced from any supplier however, ONLY approved PSMHA logos can be used. Approved logos are provided on the webpage at www.psmha.ca/managers. No other versions can be used without prior approval of the Board of Directors.

  9. Affiliated Players APs are assigned to each team through an approved list submitted to Hockey Saskatchewan based off our evaluation results. No players can be used for games or practices until such time as your approved list is provided to you. NO U9 PLAYERS TO BE USED AS AP's IN HOCKEY REGINA LEAGUE PLAY AP requests MUST first be made to the players' coach then parent.   10. Division Reporting Requirements and Leagues U9 teams will play half ice all season. Stats will NOT be recorded. NO games of any kind can be played until November 15 and after that, no game can be played without a sanction which PSMHA MUST obtain for you U9 PSMHA teams can play each other without obtaining a sanction U11, U13, U15, and U18 A/B/C Our U11 and U13 A/B/C, U15 A/B and U18 A/B teams play within Hockey Regina s League Please follow Hockey Regina game change procedures which can be found at www.psmha.ca/managers Within 4 hours of game completion, the HOME team is to email the game sheet to the following: U11 statsU11@hockeyregina.ca U13 statsU13@hockeyregina.ca U15 statsU15@hockeyregina.ca U18 statsU18@hockeyregina.ca AA report as per requirements of the Sask AA Hockey League KNOW YOUR REPORTING REQUIREMENTS!!   11. Travel, Tournaments and Exhibition Games TRAVEL Can occur outside of the province however this requires a travel permit. TOURNAMENTS Can occur but PSMHA sets a maximum of four overnight tournaments per season Tournaments must be approved by the majority of your team Tournament sanctions are required to host tournaments EXHIBITION GAMES Officials need to be scheduled through our officials scheduler at assignor@psmha.ca All exhibition games MUST be sanctioned through Hockey Saskatchewan and game sheets reported Travel, Tournament and Exhibition Sanction requests can be made through the link provide on the Managers Resource Page Prairie Storm Minor Hockey WWW.PSMHA.CA

Team Equipment Teams should have received the following: Home and Away Jerseys in Jersey Bags C and A letters for U13, U15 and U18 Pail and pucks Medical Kit Locker Key (if chosen to take) Care of jerseys is the responsibility of the team and should be conducted as per the equipment use agreement. Damage to the jerseys will be charged to the team at the end of the playing season Individual players should carry their own jerseys in a garment bag Colored drinks are not permitted in water bottles to ensure PSMHA issued jerseys are not stained Socks are NOT included in team fees. Managers should collect a list of those needing socks and submitted the sock order form. Socks will be charged on your team invoice, so it is up to the team to collect the fees. Socks are $25 per pair. U11 B and C will have the AtoMc jerseys this and U7 will have Timbits jerseys. Prairie Storm Minor Hockey WWW.PSMHA.CA

  13. Rink Dressing Rooms and General Conduct We all represent PSMHA so please keep this in mind in other facilities as well as our own Teams should assign a personnel to check the rooms after the kids have left It is NOT the responsibility of the rink staff to clean up after our teams. Teams may face fines if rooms are left with damages or repeated uncleanliness Kids should NOT be left unattended for long periods of time. Coaching staff do not necessarily need to be in the rooms but should be close by to manage the teams NO cell phones except for the use of music. Pictures are not permitted On Ice No one should be on the ice until the Zamboni is off the ice and the doors are closed. Players should NOT be on the ice without a coach No one should be on the player benches without a helmet. Parents should not be on the player benches Opposite genders dress in separate change rooms from U11 and up. Please be respectful of including opposite gender in all dressing rooms talks. Officials On and office ice officials are paid by the teams U11,U13, U15, and U18 pay for both on and off ice officials U9 parent volunteers will be used to run the clock Official rates can be found at www.psmha.ca/officials-rates. All officials will be scheduled through the appropriate league or by our Assignor though the officials online system, Arbiter. Due to a lack of senior officials the U15 and U18 divisions should expect an increase in mileage payments. Teams will be advised ahead of scheduled games if this applies. Any concerns and/or praise for officials should be provided to our Referee in Chief at ric@psmha.ca Prairie Storm Minor Hockey WWW.PSMHA.CA

  15. Ice Scheduling and Usage Full season practices will be provided to your team. It is responsibility of the team staff to enter the ice times into SportsEngine and to cross reference the schedule provided with the league webpages to ensure the information is the same. It is the responsibility of the team staff to check the team invoice monthly and ensure it matches your assigned ice times. If there are discrepancies, please report to treasurer@psmha.ca. Ice for sale will be posted on the PSMHA webpage Ice swaps and game changes requests will be handled by the Ice Scheduler. Please use the Ice Time Change Request Form link found on the Managers Page. ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY PSMHA has a Zero Tolerance Policy that can be found in our Policy and Procedures Manual This means we will not tolerate abuse of officials, coaches, players, parents or spectators of any kind Please remind your families that Communiskate a licensed facility we still expect all present to behave in the same manner as we always have Internal team issues should be brought to the attention of the Parent Liaison after the 24-Hour waiting period If concerns cannot be resolved internally with your team or instances occur that do not involve the team, they should be reported to the PSMHA President at president@psmha.ca Prairie Storm Minor Hockey WWW.PSMHA.CA

  17. PSMHA Adam Herold Merit Award PSMHA is proud to partner with the Adam Herold Legacy Foundation again this season. The award is presented to a U13 and up player or official that consistently displays the characteristics and values that PSMHA strives to instill within our athletes and officials, while exemplifying the qualities that Adam Herold displayed to his teammates, friends and those around him. We require all our U13 and up team staff to consider nominating individuals that meet the criteria. Please visit the PSMHA website for more information.
