  2. Dr. Connell J. Brown University Professor Animal Sciences Served the University for 40 years Recipient of the John W. Whited Research Award Member of the Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame Recipient of the Distinguished Service Award of the Southern Section of the American Society of Animal Science

  3. Dr. Al Einert Professor Horticulture Helped to coordinate the landscape design and urban horticulture BS degree Helped to establish the landscape architect licensure agreement for the state of Arkansas Recipient of the: Arkansas Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award Sturdy Oak Award from the Arkansas Nurserymen s Association Distinguished Award in Teaching from the Arkansas Alumni Association

  4. Dr. John P. Jones Professor Plant Pathology Joined the University in 1960 Conducted important research on cereal diseases Served as Resident technical Advisor with USAID Agricultural Improvement Projects in Cairo, Egypt and Morocco

  5. Dr. Ronald W. McNew Professor Bumpers College

  6. The Honorable Jerry Wayne Jake Looney Distinguished Professor Law Dean of School of Law (1982-1990)

  7. Dr. James Riley Couper Professor Chemical Engineering Former Head of the Department Retired in 1989 after 30 years of service to the University Fellow of the American Institute for Chemical Engineers

  8. Dr. James L. Gaddy Distinguished Professor Chemical Engineering

  9. Dr. Kimberly G. Smith Distinguished Professor Biological Sciences Joined the University Faculty in 1981 Chair from 2004-2008 Rigorous and respected teacher of many courses in the biological sciences, a well-loved mentor to graduate students, and a strong advocate for teaching ecology field research; and

  10. Dr. Doug James University Professor Biological Sciences Joined the faculty in 1953 and again in 1957 after serving in the military; 63 years with the University Outstanding contributions in research and higher education have been recognized with funding from 17 agencies (international, federal, state, and regional), the production of over 110 peer-reviewed publications and books, and the successful training of 83 graduate students (53 Master s, 30 PhD), and professional accolades too numerous to list

Dr. Lyna Lee Montgomery Professor English Retired in 2013 after nearly 47 years of service to the University Vice Chair of the Department of English starting in 1995 Chi Omega Outstanding Teacher Award, 2002 Fulbright College Outstanding Teacher Award, 1998 Fulbright College Outstanding Advisor Award, 1993 Burlington Northern Foundation Award for Outstanding Faculty- Scholar Teaching, 1985 Cardinal Key Award for Excellence in Teaching, 1981 National Defense Education Act Fellow, 1981

  12. Dr. James L. Meek Associate Professor Mathematical Sciences Joined the University faculty in 1967 and served for 49 years Served as Director of the Calculus program, coordinating the instruction of Calculus courses, and as Undergraduate Advisor in the department for many years

  13. Dr. Naoki Kimura Professor Mathematical Sciences Retired in 1992 after 27 years of service to the University

  14. Mr. Donald D. Sieger Assistant Professor Sociology Retired in 1993 after 30 years of service to the University. Fulbright College Master Teacher Award, 1987 a scholar with a breadth and depth of knowledge of his research field that few in the profession enjoy. He brought this same dedication to the classroom; his students remember his passion and insight into the discipline that he loved. William Schwab

  15. Dr. Nancy G. McCartney Assistant Curator Museum Joined the University in 1974 and served for 44 years (longest serving museum personnel member to date) Organized and maintained the University Museum's zoological collection In 1980, her management of the collection contributed to the museum's successful application for accreditation by the American Association of Museums Received four Institute of Museum and Library Services grants and one National Science Foundation grant to rehouse the collections

  17. Dr. Sharon Frances Sabik Research Assistant Professor Department of Rehabilitation, Human resources, and Communication Disorders Rehabilitation Research and Training Center for Persons who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
