Acts 2:14 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. ESV
Jeremiah 31:3132 Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. ESV
Jeremiah 31:3334 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. ESV
Shavuot (Feast of Weeks) - a time of remembrance and thanksgiving of God s provision as Israel had been strangers in a foreign land; and so likewise they were to share their abundance with those less fortunate (Lev. 23:22; Deut. 16:11-12).

Pentecost - the day when God sent His Holy Spirit as proof that Jesus was indeed His Son and had been exalted as LORD at His right hand.
Pentecost - the first day of the establishment of the church body of Christ found in Acts 2:42-47.
How do you know when you have made contact with something or someone? Usually there is some sort of indelible mark left behind.
How does one know when they have made a connection with God? There is usually some sort of un- erasable mark left behind from one s encounter.
Romans 5:7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die ESV
Do we have a powered connection with God? Has God left an indelible mark upon you?
Mark 16:1617 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; ESV
Mark 16:1819 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover. So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. ESV
Mark 16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs. ESV
Acts 2:12 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. ESV
Acts 2:34 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. ESV
The Gospel will be accompanied by signs of healing, deliverance, safety, speaking of tongues and language (unknown before) this power, is of Jesus, and from Jesus, and is true.
Jesus is the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow He is constant and consistent (Hebrews 13:8).
The question is: What is my connection with God like?
The indwelling Holy Spirit, whose purpose, among many things, is to witness and lead man into the truth of Christ.
John 14:2324 Jesus answered him, If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father s who sent me. ESV
John 14:2526 These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. ESV
Titus 3:45 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, ESV
Titus 3:67 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. ESV
Romans 8:1617 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. ESV
What does it mean to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit?
It means to be surrendered to Jesus; allowing Jesus to be one s sanctifier - one s sanitizer.
To surrender does not mean giving up things, but it means giving up self.
Romans 12:12 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. ESV
God does not accept a divided heart; is this the source of our power outage?
Ones connection with God, the power of the Holy Spirit, is based on the exercising of one s faith.
Gideons Empowerment from God (Judges 6:34)
Judges 6:34 But the Spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon, and he sounded the trumpet, and the Abiezrites were called out to follow him. ESV
Ephesians 2:89 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. ESV
Romans 12:3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. ESV
1 Timothy 1:1314 though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. ESV
Romans 6:1718 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. ESV
Judges 6:34 But the Spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon, and he sounded the trumpet, and the Abiezrites were called out to follow him. ESV
Judges 3:10 The Spirit of the Lord was upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord gave Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand. And his hand prevailed over Cushan-rishathaim. ESV
Judges 14:6 Then the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and although he had nothing in his hand, he tore the lion in pieces as one tears a young goat. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done. ESV
Judges 14:19 And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon and struck down thirty men of the town and took their spoil and gave the garments to those who had told the riddle. In hot anger he went back to his father s house. ESV
Matthew 21:2122 And Jesus answered them, Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and thrown into the sea, it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. ESV
Judges 7:15 As soon as Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped. And he returned to the camp of Israel and said, Arise, for the Lord has given the host of Midian into your hand. ESV
Galatians 3:5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith ESV
Does God work amongst us by obeying the Law, or by believing in faith?
Who will you give priority to: the old man or the Holy Spirit living in you?
