  3. ~ Amended ~ Ohio Revised Code chapter 3365.04 Adds specific information to be shared with students during the secondary schools counseling sessions

  6. ORC 3365.035 (A) Definition: Mature Subject Matter means any course subject matter or material of a graphic, explicit, violent, or sexual nature.

  7. ORC 3365.035 Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Higher Education shall: Jointly develop a permission slip regarding the potential for mature subject matter in a course taken through the college credit plus program.

  8. ORC 3365.035 Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Higher Education shall: Post the permission slip in a prominent place on their College Credit Plus program websites.

  9. Step 1 Parent and student shall sign and include the permission slip within the student s application to the college in which the student wishes to enroll Application

  10. Step 2 Upon admitting a student, college shall include the following in the college s enrollment materials: Questionnaire for students to answer in the affirmative acknowledging that the student 1) possesses the necessary social and emotional maturity and 2) is ready to accept the responsibility and independence that a college classroom demands Student must return the completed questionnaire to the college Admission

  11. Step 2 continued Upon admitting a student, college shall include the following in the college s enrollment materials: Guidance on reviewing any course materials available prior to enrolling in a course Information about the college s and the program s (CCP) policies on withdrawing from or dropping a course Admission

  12. Step 2 continued Upon admitting a student, college shall include the following in the college s enrollment materials: Information about the student s right to speak with the student s high school counselor or with the college s academic advisor assigned to the student Admission

  13. Step 3 Each college shall include a discussion about the potential for mature subject matter in courses taken through the program Orientation

Disclaimer ODE, ODHE, and Colleges Post in a prominent place on CCP websites: The subject matter of a course enrolled in under the College Credit Plus program may include mature subject matter or materials, including those of a graphic, explicit, violent, or sexual nature, that will not be modified based upon College Credit Plus enrollee participation regardless of where the course instruction occurs.

  15. Counseling Session ORC 3365.04 #11 Information about the potential for mature subject matter in courses in which the student intends to enroll through the program and notification that course will not be modified based upon program enrollee participation regardless of where course instruction occurs. The information shall include the Permission Slip.
