1 - GENERAL INFORMATION 1 - GENERAL INFORMATION General This manual has been prepared to assist you in the correct procedure for running in, operating, adjusting and main- taining your new attachment. It is divided into chapters as outlined in the CONTENTS . Refer to the INDEX at the end of this manual to locate specific items. This attachment has been designed and built to give maximum performance, economy and ease of operation under a wide variety of crops and conditions. Prior to delivery, your attachment was carefully inspected both at the factory and by your dealer to ensure that it reaches you in optimum condition. To maintain this condition and ensure trouble free operation it is important that routine services, as specified in this manual, are carried out at the recommended intervals. Read this manual carefully (especially Chapter 2: SAFETY INFORMATION) and keep it into convenient place for future reference. DO NOT operate or permit anyone to operate or service this attachment until you and/or other persons have read this manual. Reading the manual will save you time and hassle later. Lack of knowledge can lead to accidents. Employ only trained operators who have demonstrated the ability to operate and service this attachment correctly and safely. Contact your CASE IH AGRICULTURE dealer for assistance providing the required training to your operators. Contact your dealer to obtain additional manuals or alternate language versions. ''Left and ''right used throughout this manual are determined from the rear, facing in the direction of travel of the attachment during operation. If at any time you require advice concerning your attachment, do not hesitate to contact your authorized CASE IH AGRICULTURE dealer. He has factory trained personnel, genuine service parts and the necessary equipment to carry out your service requirements. ATTENTION: This attachment has been designed and built in line with the requirements put forward by the European Directive 2006/42/EC. NOTICE: Always use genuine CASE IH AGRICULTURE Service parts or parts matching at least the same quality, reliability and functionality as the equivalent original Service Parts when servicing and repairing your attachment and do not modify your attachment without a written permission of the manufacturer. Failure to do so will void the respon- sibility of the manufacturer. A lot of functions of your attachment are controlled by software and some of them are related to safety. Do not attempt to modify or download software from spurious sources. Settings and logics may be destroyed and seriously affect the attachment function. This may result in unpredictable and unsafe behavior of the attachment. Only your CASE IH AGRICULTURE dealer is entitled to intervene on the software of the attachment. He has the appropriate tools and data sets for it and owns the officially released software versions and updates for your attachment. When operating interchangeable equipment, ensure the equipment is CE approved. As this publication is distributed throughout our international network, the equipment illustrated, either as standard or as an accessory, may vary according to the country in which the equipment is to be used. Low specification configu- rations, as chosen by the customer, may deviate from the specifications given. Several figures in this manual show the safety guarding or the additional guards, legally required by certain countries, open or removed to illustrate better a particular feature or adjustment. The attachment must not be used in this condition. For your own safety, ensure that all guards are closed or replaced before operating the attachment. 1 - 1

Normally, your dealer's Service Department will handle any problems with your equipment. Some- times however, misunderstanding can occur. If your problem has not been handled to your satisfaction, we suggest contacting the owner or General Manager of the dealership, explaining the problem, and requesting assistance. When additional assistance is needed, your dealer has direct access to our branch office. COMPANY POLICY Company policy, which is one of continuous improvement, reserves the right to make changes in design and specifi- cation at any time without notice and without obligation to modify units previously built. All data given in this book is subject to production variations. The information in this publication is provided on the basis of information that was available at the time that the manual was written. Settings, procedures, software and other items can change. These changes can affect the service that is given to the attachment. Dimensions and weights are approximate only and the illustrations do not necessarily show the attachment in standard condition. For exact information about any particular attachment please consult your CASE IH AGRICULTURE dealer. Ensure you have the most current and complete information from your dealer before starting any job. ACCESSORIES AND OPTIONS Your attachment has been designed to operate in a wide variety of crops and conditions. Nevertheless additional equipment may, in certain cases, be required to improve the attachment performance. A list of this additional equip- ment is given in Chapter 10: ACCESSORIES. Use only those accessories designed for your attachment. PARTS AND ACCESSORIES Genuine CASE IH AGRICULTURE parts and accessories have been specifically designed for CASE IH AGRICUL- TURE attachments. We would like to point out that ''non-genuine parts and accessories have not been examined and released by CASE IH AGRICULTURE. The installation and/or use of such products could have negative effects upon the design char- acteristics of your attachment and thereby affect its safety. CASE IH AGRICULTURE is not liable for any damage caused by the use of ''non-genuine parts and accessories. Rely on your authorised dealer to supply you with genuine CASE IH AGRICULTURE parts only. These parts are covered by our warranty and will give you the best performance. When ordering service parts, always quote the model and serial number, as well as the year of manufacture printed on the PIN (Product Identification Number) plate (refer to Chapter 1: Product identification). 1 - 2

1 - GENERAL INFORMATION LUBRICANTS Your CASE IH AGRICULTURE dealer sells a selection of specially formulated lubricants based on own engineering specifications. Recommended lubricants for your attachment are listed at the end of Chapter 7: MAINTENANCE. WARRANTY Your attachment is warranted according to legal rights in your country and the contractual agreement with the selling dealer. No warranty shall, however, apply if the attachment has not been used, adjusted and maintained according to the instructions given in this Operator's Manual. It is prohibited to carry out any modifications to the attachment unless specifically authorized, in writing, by a CASE IH AGRICULTURE representative. CLEANING YOUR ATTACHMENT Your attachment is a state of the art attachment with sophisticated, electronic controls. Even though every precaution has been taken to safeguard electronic components and connections, the pressure generated by some pressure washers is such that complete protection against water ingress cannot be guaranteed. When using a high pressure washer, do not stand too close to the attachment and avoid directing the jet at electronic components, electrical connections, breathers, seals, filler caps, etc. Clean decals only with a soft cloth, water and a gentle detergent. DO NOT use solvent, gasoline or other harsh chemicals to clean decals. Decals could be removed or get damaged. IMPORTANT ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS Soil, air and water are vital factors of agriculture and of life in general. Where legislation does not yet rule the treatment of some of the substances, which are required by advanced technology, common sense should govern the use and the disposal of the products of a chemical and a petrochemical nature. The following are recommendations, which may be of assistance: Become acquainted with and respect the relative legislation applicable in your country. Where no legislation exists, obtain information from suppliers of oils, fuels, antifreeze, cleaning agents, etc. for their effect on man and nature and for safe ways of storage, usage and disposal. Agricultural consultants will, in many cases, be able to help you as well. DISASSEMBLY OR SCRAPPING When your attachment is taken out of service because it is damaged beyond repair or has reached the end of its useful life, disassembly, scrapping and/or recycling of components must be performed only by a qualified technician using service instructions, and in compliance with local law and regulations. 1 - 3

1 - GENERAL INFORMATION HELPFUL HINTS In general, avoid skin contact with all oils, acids, solvents, etc. Most of them contain substances which can be harmful to your health. Use biodegradable oils for chain lubrication where oils cannot be recuperated. In many countries rapeseed oils or other agro based lubricants have become available. Modern oils contain additives. Do not burn contaminated fuels and/or waste oils in ordinary heating systems. Do not increase the pressure in a pressurized circuit as this may lead to bursting of the components. Protect hoses during welding as penetrating weld splatter may burn a hole or weaken them, causing the loss of oils, coolant, etc. 2011 CNH Belgium NV 1 - 4

1 - GENERAL INFORMATION Intended use This header is designed to be attached to and powered by CASE IH AGRICULTURE combines. The header is intended to be used to cut maize crops, on cultivated land and to convey the crop into the combine straw elevator. Rigid Maize Header: This header can be attached to all CASE IH AGRICULTURE combines. Flip up Maize Header: This header can be attached to all CASE IH AGRICULTURE combines . There are two types of maize headers available: Prohibited usage No parts should be fitted to this header, which have not been released by CASE IH AGRICULTURE. They might affectheaderoperation, safetyoftheuserorotherpeople, stability or wear characteristics of the header. They may also void the homologation approval obtained for your country and compliance with EC Directives. the decals or in other product safety information provided with the attachment. These materials define the attach- ment intended use. Contact your local CASE IH AGRI- CULTURE dealer when you are not sure about the use or function of your attachment in a particular application (e.g. crop, variety, unique conditions, etc.) or when you do not know if there is a need for special equipment or special precautions. NOTICE: DO NOT use this attachment for any purpose or in any manner other than as described in the manual, on 1 - 5

1 - GENERAL INFORMATION Product identification The attachment is identified using a serial number and/or manufacturing code. The type, serial number and year of manufacture are stamped on the PIN (Product Identifica- tion Number) plate. Give your CASE IH AGRICULTURE dealer the model and PIN of your header when ordering parts. Always order genuine factory parts from your authorized dealer. Record the PIN in the front of this manual for easy refer- ence. The header serial number and type are stamped on the plate on the frame right side, in the position shown in the figure. Some pictures in this manual may show the safety guard- ingopenorremovedtobetterillustrateaparticularfeature or adjustment. No accident prevention programme can be successful without the wholehearted cooperation of the person who is directly responsible for the operation of the equipment. Ensure to close or replace all guards before operating the machine. Throughout this manual and on machine decals, you will find precautionary statements ("CAUTION", "WARNING", and "DANGER") followed by specific instructions. These precautions are intended for the personal safety of you and bystanders. Please take the time to read them. Not on EU decals (ISO 11784). Farm machinery can create hazards if not used in the proper way. Further in this chapter you will find a list of the most im- portant safety precautions. This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential personal injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE "CAUTION", "WARNING" AND "DANGER" TIONS MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS BODILY HARM OR DEATH. INSTRUC- Take time to read and follow the instructions and further- more, be careful! Precautionary statements CAUTION, used with the safety alert symbol, indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury. DANGERindicatesahazardoussituation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury. WARNING indicates a hazardous situa- tion which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. Machine safety Additional precautionary statement ("NOTICE") is fol- lowed by specific instructions. This statement is intended for machine safety. NOTICE:Theword NOTICE isusedtoinformthereader of something he needs to know to prevent minor machine damage if a certain procedure is not followed. ATTENTION:Theword ATTENTION isusedtowarnthe operator of potential machine damage if a certain proce- dure is not followed. 2 - 1

2 - SAFETY INFORMATION General recommendations Your attachment was designed with safety very much in mind. However, there is no real substitute for caution and attention in preventing accidents. Once an accident has happened it is too late to think about what you should have done! incorrectly locked p.t.o. shaft could work loose and cause accidents or damage to the attachment. Read all the safety decals adhered to the attach- ment and follow the instructions. Replace any dam- aged or missing decals immediately and place or- ders for these with your local CASE IH AGRICUL- TURE dealer. Keep the safety decals free from dirt or grime. Remember that the attachment has been designed exclusively for agricultural use. Any other applica- tion must first be authorized by the manufacturer. The attachment should only be operated by respon- sible persons instructed on how to operate the at- tachment and authorized to do so. Keep children away from and off the attachment at all times. You shall take the necessary precautions to always be aware of the possible presence of bystanders. Keep people away from the attachment during har- vest. Ask bystanders to leave the field. There is the risk for bystanders to be overrun by the machine or to be caught by the intake and feeding components. All persons who will be operating this attachment shall possess a valid local vehicle operating permit and / or other applicable local age and work permits. Always keep a first aid kit handy. Read this manual thoroughly before starting, oper- ating, servicing, or carrying out any other operation on the attachment. A few minute's reading will save you time and hassle later. Wear personal protective equipment when appro- priate. Never operate the attachment under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or while otherwise impaired. When attaching or detaching the attachment to the machine: A person or pet within the operating area of a ma- chine can be struck or crushed by the machine or its attachment. DO NOT allow anyone to enter the work area. Make sure that the area is clear and operation is safe before lowering or moving the at- tachment. 1. Make sure that no one is standing in front of the attachment. 2. Make sure no one is standing between machine and the attachment. DO NOT use this attachment as a lift, ladder or plat- form for working at heights. After attaching the attachment to the combine or forage harvester, ensure that the p.t.o. lock pin is properly engaged in the power take-off shaft. An 2 - 2

2 - SAFETY INFORMATION Level requirements for operation, service and converting activities This manual gives information for use of this machine, as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manu- facturer during normal operation and routine service and maintenance. propriate facilities, technical skills and tools which are not supplied with the machine. Failing one of these 3 prereq- uisites, makes that these activities shall be done by your CASE IH AGRICULTURE dealer. Normal operation means the use of the machine for the purpose intended by the manufacturer by an operator fa- miliarwiththemachinecharacteristicsandcomplyingwith the information for operation and safe practices, as spec- ified by the manufacturer in this manual and by the signs on the machine. Normal operation includes the prepara- tion and storage of the machine, swinging components into work position and vice versa. Normal operation in- cludes the adjustment and setting of the machine, for the specific condition of the field and/or the crop. Periodical service means activities that must be done at defined intervals by trained personnel familiar with the machine characteristics and which are complying with the information for periodical service and safe practices, as specified by the manufacturer in this manual and in other Company literature, in order to maintain the expected life time of the machine. Periodical service includes activities such as changing oil from hydraulic circuits or gearboxes, or other substances or components that need periodical exchange. Routine service and maintenance means activities that must be done daily by an operator familiar with the ma- chine characteristics and complying with the information for routine service and safe practices, as specified by the manufacturer in this manual and by signs on the ma- chine, in order to maintain the proper function of the ma- chine. Routine service includes activities such as clean- ing, washing, topping up fluid levels, greasing, adjusting belts and chains, replacement of consumable articles and fast wearing parts. Converting (rebuild) means activities that must be done by professional service personnel familiar with the ma- chine characteristics and complying with the information for converting, as specified by the manufacturer in this manual, in assembly instructions or in other Company lit- erature, in order to rebuild the machine to a configuration which is appropriate for a specific crop or soil condition. Repair means activities that must be done by professional service personnel familiar with the machine characteris- ticsandcomplyingwiththeinformationforrepair, asspec- ified by the manufacturer in the dealer s workshop / ser- vice manual, in order to restore the proper function of the machine after a failure or degradation of performance. This manual is not giving all the information related to pe- riodical service, machine converting (rebuild) and repairs to be carried out by professional service personnel. For some of the latter activities, there may be a need for ap- 2 - 3

2 - SAFETY INFORMATION Fire or explosion prevention 1. Fuel or oil leaked or spills on hot surfaces or elec- trical components can cause a fire. 5. Do not store oily rags or other flammable material on the attachment. 2. Cropmaterial, trash, debris, birdnestsorflammable material can ignite on hot surfaces. 6. Do not weld or flame cut any items that contain flammable material. Clean items thoroughly with non-flammable solvent before welding or flame cut- ting. 3. At least once a day, remove debris accumulation around moving components such as bearings, pul- leys, belts, gears, etc. More frequent cleaning of your attachment may be necessary depending on the operating environment and conditions. 7. Do not expose the attachment to flames, burning brush or explosives. 8. Promptly investigate any unusual smells or odors that may occur during operation of the attachment. 4. Inspect the electrical system for loose connections orfrayedinsulation. Repairorreplacelooseordam- aged parts. Hazardous chemicals 1. If you are exposed to or come in contact with haz- ardous chemicals you can be seriously injured. The fluids, lubricants, paints, adhesives, coolant, etc. required for the function of your machine can be hazardous. They may be attractive and harmful to domestic animals as well as humans. 4. Dispose of all fluids, filters and containers in an en- vironmentally safe manner according to local laws and regulations. Check with local environmental and recycling centres or your dealer for correct dis- posal information. 5. Store fluids and filter in accordance with local laws and regulations. Use only appropriate containers for the storage of chemicals or petrochemical sub- stances. 2. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provide in- formation about the chemical substances within a product, safe handling and storage procedures, first aid measures and procedures to be taken in the event of a spill or accidental release. MSDS are available from your dealer. 6. Keep out of reach of children or other unauthorized persons. 7. Additional precautions are required for applied chemicals. Obtain complete information from the manufacturer or distributor of the chemicals before using them. 3. Before you service your machine check the MSDS for each lubricant, fluid, etc. used in this machine. This information indicates the associated risks and will help you service the machine safely. Follow the information in the MSDS, on manufacturer contain- ers, as well as the information in this manual when servicing the machine. 2 - 4

2 - SAFETY INFORMATION Travelling on public roads Check the travel route for sufficient overhead and width clearance before transporting or travelling. Slow down and signal before turning. Pull over to allow faster traffic to pass. When attached to the combine or forage har- vester: WARNING Loss of control hazard! Brake pedals shall be locked together for road travel. Thisensuresuniformbrakeapplication and maximum stopping ability. Failure to comply could result in death or se- rious injury. On a trailer: Towing the header is not allowed with the combine or forage harvester! Use a tractor and an adequate transport system to transport the header. Use only rigid tow bars. Lifting the header is only allowed at the lift points indicated in this manual. W0308A Read and understand the Operator's Manual or in- structions of the trailer. WARNING Collision hazard! Collision of high speed road traffic and slow moving machines can cause death or per- sonal injury. On roads use transport lighting according to local laws. Make sure the Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) emblem is visible. Failure to comply could result in death or se- rious injury. Be sure the "Slow Motion Vehicle" emblem and / or the "Speed Indicator Symbol" on the attachment or on the machine is covered while transporting the header on a trailer. Always use safety signals or adequate lights when travelling with the header on public roads. Always observe the local regulations. 2 - SAFETY INFORMATION Operating the attachments DO NOT use this attachment for any purpose or in any manner other than as described in the manual, decals, or other product safety information provided with the attachment. These materials define the at- tachment s intended use. Never attempt to remove crop or residues from a plugged attachment while the machine is running. Such an imprudence could cost life or limb. In the event of a blockage, and if reversing the system is not successful, always disengage the threshing mechanism, switch off the engine and apply the parking brake before clearing the blockage. When coupling an attachment to the base unit, never allow anyone to stand between the machine and the attachment. All persons who will be operating this machine shall possess a valid local vehicle operating permit and/or other applicable local age work permits. Make sure that no one is standing in front of the machine when detaching an attachment. Before operating the attachment, make sure that there is no one on or near the machine. Consult your dealer on changes, additions or mod- ifications that may be required for your machine Prior to engaging the p.t.o., always make sure there are no persons or obstacles nearby. Warn bystanders by sounding the horn three times. Donotmakeanyunauthorizedmodificationstoyour machine. Never operate the machine under the influence of alcohol, drugs or while otherwise impaired. P.t.o. driven machinery can cause death or serious injury. Before working on or near the p.t.o. shaft or servicing or clearing the driven machine, put the p.t.o. lever in the disengage position, stop the en- gine and remove the key.
