Our Strategic Priorities Business Development Grow Indiana County business by encouraging local loyalty Workforce Development Strategic Plan 2021-2024 Chamber Development Increase our value to members and increase membership Ensure workforce readiness to support business expansion and readiness Provide education and training for business community on business start-up and growth Vision: To be the premier resource for starting and growing a business in Indiana County Partner and explore synergies with Indiana County Tourism Bureau, Downtown Indiana, IUP and other community organizations Encourage talent to live and work locally Create an infrastructure for new ways of doing work Mission: Champion a pro-business growth climate in Indiana County while attracting, developing and retaining a world class workforce Advocate for the local business community Values: Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, Advocacy, Partnership

Business Development OBJECTIVES STRATEGIES ACTIONS Grow Indiana County business by encouraging local loyalty Business-to-Consumer initiatives Business-to-Business initiatives Shop Local Campaign Buy Indiana County First Member network events Provide education and training for business community on business start- up and growth Brains and Grains / EDGE programs Webinars Guest Speakers Women s Summit Offer education and training related to: Marketing/branding Remote workers New business delivery methods Create an infrastructure for new ways of doing work Explore a large scale telework hub based in Indiana County Establish or promote existing co-op working space(s) for executives with shared reception and technology resources Identify successful models for virtual work hubs Conduct site visits Assess feasibility of establishing telework center in Indiana County Advocate for the local business community Advance Pro-Business Policy Continue an active Government Relations Committee Maintain ongoing dialogue with local legislators and government officials

Workforce Development OBJECTIVES STRATEGIES Strengthen educational partnerships Assist in matching displaced workers to employer vacancies ACTIONS Continue and expand Indiana County Ready Explore mentorship/apprenticeship program partnerships Hold webinar for teacher Ensure workforce readiness to support business expansion and readiness Encourage talent to live and work locally Market to new graduates to stay local and for area natives to return Strengthen University-Community relationships Support the further development and sustainment of quality of life infrastructure (trails, arts, and other recreation). Research the drivers and barriers to talent retention (survey or focus groups) Establish a Job Board to promote Indiana County jobs / job seekers Leverage YPO for retention Build a relationship with IUP Career Development Center Explore residential tax abatement program with County Commissioners

Chamber Development OBJECTIVES STRATEGIES Market the value of Chamber membership Recruit new members to the Chamber ACTIONS Launch a membership drive Research member / non-member perceptions possible use of IUP SBI students Update the Chamber logo / branding identity Increase our value to members and increase membership Partner and explore synergies with Indiana County Tourism Bureau, Downtown Indiana, IUP and other community organizations Collaborate on special events and cross promotion Leverage partnerships and relationships to pursue grant funding opportunities Explore options to partner / collaborate with Downtown Indiana Establish a not-for-profit Foundation to support workforce and other development initiatives
