Evaluations process will likely dictate coaching assignments. Schedule a Parent s Meeting as close to the first week of practices and make YOUR coaching plan/expectations clear. Assign team parent/snack shack person/scheduler, etc. 4 coaches only on bench.
Coaches must be registered with USA Hockey and PYH prior to taking the ice for any activities. All USA Hockey cert s expire in August. You must have completed the required CEP by December 31, 2015. You must enter CEP at level #1 and continue each year until level #3 is completed (level #3 is good for up to 6 years). Coaches of U8 players can remain at their current level and until changing levels. Complete the USA Hockey Safe Sport Training Complete the background screening
May only attend one clinic per year, age specific module for the level you are coaching must be completed regardless of clinic level achieved. The Online Age-Specific Modules are now open for the 2015-16 season. Coaches must be current members of USA Hockey in order to register for the modules New try coaching for a year waiver of CEP.

A player between the ages of 13 and 17 registered with USA Hockey may serve as a student coach under the following conditions: 13 and 17 who is currently properly Must attend a training session conducted by PYH. Must always be under the supervision of a carded, screened adult coach during all practices. Must wear a helmet with full face shield, gloves, and skates while on the ice. Must wear helmet during games while on the bench. May only work with players at least one full playing age level down at least one full playing age level down. The organization that is using the student coach must provide a form indicating on what team he/she is participating as a student coach, and, if applicable, what team he/she is properly registered/rostered as a player.
Mandatory for all coaches, administrators, volunteers, locker room monitors etc. Filed through and paid for by CHC. Safe Sport training is valid for two years. If you took the online course for the 2013 2014 season, you will need to take again for the 2015 2016 season. Must soon be attached to roster. Use your common sense, dont let the kids act crazy !!! Trinity Pawling is kind enough to let PYH use the facilities at very reasonable rates, let s return the favor and treat the facility with respect. Obey parking and speed limit signs when on TP property Monitoring activities in the locker room. No cell phones or devices that can take pictures or record voices are allowed in the locker room. Proper under-garment attire for all players is required Coaches/Players ONLY on bench side of rink. No floor hockey same area NO SMOKING ON SCHOOL GROUNDS!
Again common sense, same rules apply as TP Coaches will be held responsible for rink/locker room/warm room usage. Leave it better than you found it
Coaches MUST wear helmets and chin strap at all times on the ice!!! No exceptions!! Can result in a CHC/PYH suspension.
Massive shortage nationwide (-200 in CT) We use EHOA Eastern Hockey Officials Assoc. CHC referee director will NOT accept any coaches complaints unless through the president of organization. PYH will adopt this same standard.

September 26th Small area skills/drills One evaluator at each station Same rating system as last year
September 27th Cross Ice scrimmages, 2-3 at a time during evaluations for 30 minutes. Full Ice scrimmage * Considering Coaches input as a percentage of the evaluation.
Please check the PYH website for most current information regarding times and locations of team practices. Be aware that early in the year (September and beginning of October, practices and evaluations will be held at South Kent rink. We won t get ice at TP until mid October, 2015 and we will continue to utilize South Kent throughout 2015.
Each team will be responsible for scheduling/rescheduling games through the remainder of the season. Designate a point person on your team.

Scores for ALL games, even non CHC must be reported Submit scores to CHC level reps.
