Professional Boards play a crucial role in regulating social service professions in South Africa. They aim to set standards for education and training, promote the integrity of professions, and protect the public. The Boards also oversee the licensing and practice of professionals, engaging with training institutions, and developing specialized qualifications. Norms and standards are essential for quality assurance in Higher Education and Training Colleges. The Council works towards ensuring quality education for registrants through collaboration with stakeholders.
