Discussion and implementation of revisions to Policy GP-7 on Board Committees were addressed during the February 15th board meeting.   2. RECAP Feb 15 Board Mtg: discussed changes to GP 7 majority of changes were at the request of the respective committees a redline policy was presented and the board provided input into additional revisions Today we are presenting the additional changes made in response to board feedback 2

  3. Policy Revision Process Adoption Board will vote to adopt revised Policy GP-7. Formal Introduction Board reviews the proposed redlined policy: Draft Redline GP-7 March 6th Study Session February 15 Board Mtg March 14 Board Mtg Second Reading Board reviews the proposed policy and any additional recommended revisions. 3

  8. Additional Revisions to GP-7 Board Liaisons/Staff Representative: Each Board committee will have at least one but not more than two Board liaisons. The Board liaison shall serve as an ex-officio, non-voting, member with the express responsibility of listening and reporting back to the full board on the activities of the committee. The superintendent shall appoint a Cabinet member or other district leader to facilitate each committee to ensure that the committee fulfills its purpose. 8

  9. Additional Revisions to GP-7 Bylaws: To the extent that a committee would benefit from additional procedures or guidelines, the committee shall create bylaws. Bylaws must be consistent with this policy, however, bylaws can include additional procedures or guidelines that a committee agrees to abide by. 9

  10. Additional Revisions to GP-7 Language about Term Limits: To the extent that a committee may benefit from defined term limits, an individual committee s bylaws may include the details of such. By July 1st, each committee shall submit its current bylaws to the Board of Education for review. 10

  11. Jefferson County School District R-1 District Accountability Committee Include DAC Review of Charter Renewals in Purpose: To provide input on charter renewal applications to the Superintendent consistent with C.R.S. 22-30.5-110(3)(a)- (d). 11

  12. District Health Advisory Committee The DHAC will be deleted from GP-7 DHAC is addressed in District Policy ADF and this committee does not directly advise the board and the Board does not appoint its members. DHAC works with the superintendent and her designees to inform the implementation of the district s wellness policy. 12
