3 PURPOSE OF THE BOARD Connect people to each other, to the community and to Rotary International Provide guidance for the club to thrive Is responsible for overseeing the general direction of the club Represents the interests of the members
4 CLUB CONSTITUTION Article 11 Directors and Officers and Committees Section 1 Governing Body. The governing body of this club is the board, as provided in the bylaws. Section 2 Authority. The board has general control over all officers and committees and, for good cause, may declare any office vacant Section 3 Board Action Final. In all club matters, the decision of the board is final, subject only to an appeal to the club
5 BOARD COMPOSITION Constitution Section 4 Officers. The club officers shall be: president immediate past president president-elect Secretary treasurer Optional: one or more vice-presidents The club officers may also include a sergeant-at-arms, who may be a member of the board, if the bylaws provide. Each officer and director shall be a member in good standing of this club.
Works with the president to set the agenda Sends meeting notices to board members and confirms that they will attend Takes minutes and writes a report for the club within 60 days of the meeting Provides support materials as needed Invites your assistant governor if appropriate Maintains club reports and records (5 years is good) SECRETARY 6

8 CLUB ADMINISTRATION Help with meeting logistics and attendance Organize interesting and fun club meetings and socials Assist with communication, newsletters, websites Encourage collaboration Share resources Help reach goals
