Unitas Wholesale Trading Committees Overview
Unitas operates through committees that feed into a member board to address operational matters and propose sector strategies. These committees consist of 8 to 12 members who meet frequently to discuss category strategy, trading, supplier management, marketing initiatives, and more. Members are required to attend meetings regularly, with new applications welcomed when space is available. Grocery, impulse, licensed, and other committees focus on specific areas like category strategy, supplier management, and own label development.

Summary Unitas operate via a member board elected to represent all membership types Committees operate feeding into the board for both detailed operational matters but also to align and propose channel/sector strategy In these committees 8 to 12 members meet both virtually/ physically between 4 & 26 times p.a . Each committee may vary based on need ( higher numbers where committees have opted for fortnightly calls during covid but likely max 4 weekly calls and often involving suppliers) Committees are - licensed, impulse, grocery, foodservice, on trade, retail . Other ad hoc meetings are used to develop other member groups e.g specialist The attendees and purpose of the committees is defined on following pages and varies slightly by committee - Essentially category strategy, trading / supplier management, marketing initiatives, own label , NPD/supplier input into plans - Toward the end of the 2020 year members who have not attended 75% + of meetings will be asked to commit or vacate their place - New applications to attend can be made to the committee lead detailed on each page and if no spaces are available a election process would establish a vacancy
