The Rotary Foundation Funds for district grants come from Rotarians contributions to The Rotary Foundation The mission of The Rotary Foundation (TRF) is to Enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty.

Annual Fund/SHARE System Through the SHARE system, contributions to TRF are transformed into Global & Local grants that fund Club projects. District 6690 Global Grants In 2013-14, first year of new global grants system, our Foundation awarded $47.3 million. In 2019-20, 1,359 global grants were awarded worth $95.6 million World Fund Matching formulas for Global Grant funding changed July 1, 2022, to provide additional support for global grants due to high demand Leverage $1 of Club Money to $2.80 $1 contributed by District Rotary Clubs $1 matched using District 6690 Global Grant DDF $0.80 World Fund Match for District DDF Contributed
District 6690 District Grants 2021-22, 50 Grants totaling $188,635 (District DDF Matching Funding of $83,163) 2020-21, 46 Grants totaling $180,152 (District DDF Matching Funding of $75,113) 2019-20, 42 Grants totaling $475,113 (District DDF Matching Funding of $102,7978)

District Grant Qualifications Club enthusiastically and aggressively seeks to promote Annual Fund giving Club Foundation chair or Club grants coordinator completes Grant Training required Annually by TRF For Multi-Club Projects, only lead club is required to complete online grant management training
Decision Criteria If Grant Requests Exceed Available Dollars 1. Total club Annual Fund giving as compared to grant request 2. Per member Annual Fund giving amount 3. Percentage of members in club giving to Annual Fund 4. Increasing per member Annual Fund giving over a rolling 5 years 5. Percentage of members who are: a. Using Rotary Direct b. Number of Sustaining Members ($100 or more per year) c. Number of Paul Harris Society members ($1,000 or more per year)
District 6690 District Grants Deadlines Club Foundation chair or Club Grants coordinator must complete Grant Training by May 1, 2022 Proposal or application deadline is May 1, 2022 If proposal is accepted by district grants committee, the final application must be submitted via Grants Section on DACdb by June 1, 2022.
District Grant Application Process 1. Submit grant application online at District 6690 website by May 1, 2022 Signed by 2 club officers; Club Grant Coordinator or Club TRF Chair must have completed the online Grants Management Training 2. Application approved 3. Block grant request sent to The Rotary Foundation for approval 4. TRF reviews and approves block grant and then sends check to district
District Grant Completion Process 5. Project is completed by Club 6. Club submits Final Report 7. Final Report signed by 2 club officers 8. District Grants Committee reviews and approves report 9. District reimburses club for District Designated Funds (DDF) portion
District 6690 Grants Segment 2 Elements of an Effective District Grant
District Grant Projects Can be local or international Goal is to provide a $1-for-$1 District Designated Funds (DDF) to Club matching up to $2,000 Depends on availability of DDF Depends on dollar amount of District Grant requests
District Grants Rules Available to fund scholarships (Timing) Fund activities that have been approved before implementation cannot reimburse expenditures incurred prior to grant approval Limit of $1,000 for Rotary signage

District Grants Restrictions Cannot Fund: Continuous or excessive support of anyone beneficiary Establishment of foundation, permanent trust, or long- term interest-bearing account May be used to establish microcredit fund (see Section XI of the RI Terms and Conditions for Rotary Foundation District Grants and Global Grants) Purchase of land or buildings Fundraising activities Rotary events (District conference, conventions, etc.)
District Grants Restrictions Cannot Fund: Public relations unless it is essential for project implementation Project signage in excess of $1,000 Operating, administrative, or indirect program expenses of another organization Unrestricted cash donations to another organization Activities for which the cost has already been incurred
District Grants Restrictions Cannot Fund: Transportation of vaccines by hand over national borders without prior approval of appropriate government Travel to National Immunization Days Immunizations that consist solely of the polio vaccine Purchase of Covid-19 vaccines Study at Rotary Peace Center partner university
District Grants Restrictions Cannot Fund: Projects that require a person to work without pay Projects that require work from someone below the country s legal working age, or under age 16 if the law doesn t specify

3 Key Steps for Final Report 1. 2. Complete the Final Report in its entirety Upload required documents per TRF Terms and Conditions list Receipts must equal total project budget Copies of front and back of cancelled checks, bank statement, or detailed receipt and credit card statement Gather 2 Club officer signatures and second signer submits to District 3.
